Seniors Look to End on a High Note Against Kentucky

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville football team will wrap up their regular season and celebrate senior day when they host their in-state foe, Kentucky (5-6, 2-6 SEC) Saturday at Noon, inside L&N Stadium.
UofL is coming off a 38-6 defeat to SMU in Dallas. The loss to the Mustangs marks a three-game skid for the Cardinals. Louisville looks to get back on track in what will be an emotional contest against the Wildcats.
"We are getting ready for our rivalry game, so it is a big game for all of us. I think our team will have a good week of practice; we will get our guys ready to go." Louisville head coach Jeff Brohm stated.
"And, sometimes when you face a loss, it is not very fun, and you just learn from it quickly, pick up the pieces and move on. So, that is what we are going to do. And, and try and play as well as we can Saturday morning." Brohm added.
Emotions will be high when the Cards take the field on Saturday. For UofL's senior class it will be their last home game and last regular season game in a Cardinals uniform. Then to add to the scene, the game is against archrival UK.
For seniors TJ Quinn and Pete Nygra, Saturday will be a cultivation of their football journey to this point, and it will also provide an opportunity for them to be honored for their time at UofL.
Quinn, a redshirt senior from Valdosta, Georgia, has spent his whole collegiate career at Louisville. Senior day will be a full-circle moment for Quinn, who followed in his father's footsteps in becoming a Card. TJ's dad, Terry Quinn, played for UofL from 1991-1994.
"It's going to be real special. I've been here five years, and it's been good. I'm excited to see how we finish this thing. That's what I'm telling the guys; "End it on the right note, do it for the seniors." Quinn said
Redshirt senior Pete Nygra is in his second season as a member of the Cardinals. The Indianapolis, Indiana native, joined the Louisville football team after spending the first three years of his career at Northern Illinois. Since joining the UofL program, Nygra has started 24 consecutive games at Center.
"We are blessed to be able to play this game and one of the caveats of playing this game, is that you never know when your last snap is going to be. So obviously you treat every game as an opportunity. We have a mission to complete this Saturday, and that is to beat Kentucky." Nygra stated
