November 24, 2025 | Football
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville standout Caullin Lacy has been named one of five finalists for the 2025 Jet Award, which honors the nation's top return specialist in college football.
Now in its 15th year, the Jet Award continues to celebrate the electrifying talents of players who excel on punt and kickoff returns.
Lacy has established himself as one of the premier punt returners in the country. He ranks third nationally in punt return average at 22.2 yards per return and is one of only five players in the nation with multiple punt return touchdowns this season.
He opened the 2025 campaign with a 93-yard punt return touchdown against Eastern Kentucky, the second-longest in Louisville history. Later, he added a 75-yard punt return touchdown against Bowling Green, becoming the first player in program history with two punt returns of 75+ yards in a single season.
Named in honor of Heisman Trophy winner and College Football Hall of Famer Johnny "The Jet" Rodgers, the award will be presented at the Jet Award Gala on April 2, 2026, at Steelhouse Omaha. Last year's recipient, Kaden Wetjen of Iowa, exemplified the skill and impact the award seeks to recognize.
The five finalists represent the very best return specialists in college football, showcasing exceptional ability and game-changing talent. The 2025 winner will be selected by a distinguished panel of voters, including members of the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA), former Jet Award winners, and the award's co-founders, Johnny Rodgers and William Reed.
