November 15, 2025 | Women's Basketball
This is the earliest conference opener in program history
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The No. 22/21 Louisville women's basketball team (2-1) is hitting the road to open ACC play this weekend. The Cardinals are heading down to South Carolina to take on Clemson (3-1) on Sunday, November 16. The Cardinals and Tigers will face off at 3 p.m. ET and it will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2.

They are just one of two teams with a league winning percentage of 80% or better over the last 11 years.

Clemson went 14-17 last season and 6-12 in ACC play in the first season under head coach Shawn Poppie. Clemson was picked to finish 11th in the ACC preseason coaches poll back in October.
Series History - This will be the 18th meeting all time between the two schools and the 15th time they are meeting as conference foes. The Cardinals lead the all-time series 14-3 but are 14-0 against Clemson since they joined the ACC in 2014-15. The Cardinals have won 14-straight games against Clemson and are 6-1 all-time in games played at Clemson.
Last Meeting (Mar. 6, 2025) - The No. 6 seed Louisville Cardinals (21-9, 13-5 ACC) won a thriller in overtime, 70-68, over No. 14 seed Clemson (14-17, 6-12 ACC) Thursday night in the second round of the 2025 Ally ACC Women's Basketball Tournament at First Horizon Coliseum. Missing two players and trailing by as much as seven in the second half, the Cardinals fought back to come away with the win. With the victory, the Cardinals advanced to the quarterfinals for the 11th-straight ACC Tournament, the only program in the lead to make the quarters in each of the last 11 years. The Cardinals were led by Ja'Leah Williams and Tajianna Roberts, who scored a team-high 16 points each.
