"We tried to get different combinations in today," said Sowry. "It was fun to see it actually work and for a defender to be up there and able to finish a nice goal. It was definitely even across the board, hopefully it will give our team a bit of confidence that we can play good hockey and finish on the scoreboard."

Louisville (6-5, 0-2 ACC) matched a season high with six goals, while wrapping up non-conference play for the season. Redshirt freshman Mary Wordelmann led Cards with two goals. Juniors Lauren Masters and Tyler Everslage recorded a goal and an assist apiece. Senior Chloe Cuzzupe and sophomore Emily Eaton also tacked on goals for the Cards.
Masters, assisted by redshirt junior Sophia Parker, got the scoring started in the first quarter to give the Cards an early 1-0 lead. Later in the quarter, Gigi Edwards pushed the attack on the Bellarmine defense, earning an assist by setting up Cuzzupe for a goal to give UofL a 2-0 lead. In the closing minutes of the first quarter, Eaton scored her first career goal, with an assist from Everslage.

After a scoreless second quarter took a 3-0 lead into the half. The Cards kept the offense going in the third quarter when Everslage found the back of the net, assisted on by Parker.

Early in the fourth quarter, Wordelmann got her first goal of the season, when Masters earned an assist by finding her in front of the Knights' net. Eight minutes later, Wordlemann would tack on another goal in the game to cap off the scoring for the Cards, thanks to an assist by teammate Aubreigh Uba.

Louisville's offense and defense shined in this contest outshooting Bellarmine 18-1 and holding a 6-0 advantage in penalty corners. This was the third shutout the Cardinals' defense has posted on the season. Bellarmine goalkeeper Kailey Workman finished the game with six saves as the Knights move to 2-10 on the season.

Next up for Louisville is a Friday night ACC road contest at No. 9 Duke, the game will start at 6 p.m. ET and be available to stream on ACCNX. On Sunday, Louisville will face another top 10 opponent, when the Cards visit No. 3 North Carolina in an ACC Network televised matchup.
