LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville cross country teams are set to close out their regular season on Friday, Oct. 17 at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational in Madison, Wis., one of the nation's premier collegiate cross country meets.
The meet will be staged at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course, the site of last year's NCAA Cross Country Championships.
10 men and 11 women are slated to compete for the Cardinals over the course of four different races on Friday morning.
The action will begin at 11:30 a.m. ET with the women's B race (6K) with the men's B race (8K) set to follow at 12:10 p.m. ET. Following the conclusion of the B races, the women's 6K championship will kick off at 12:50 a.m. ET while the men's 8K championship will start at 1:30 p.m. ET.
The field in Madison will feature a total of 37 teams (19 women's teams and 18 men's teams) that are ranked in the latest USTFCCCA National Coaches Poll, including a total of 13 squads that are ranked in the top 10 nationally.
Live results for the meet can be found here, and a live stream of the meet will be available here for those with a paid subscription to RunnerSpace+.
After two weeks off, the Cardinals will return to the course for the first time since the first weekend of October, when the teams split between the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational and the Swags Louisville Cross Country Classic.
The Cardinals posted a pair of solid team finishes on the lakefront in Chicago with the men placing fourth and the women finishing sixth in the team standings.
Freshman Elsingi Kipruto broke the tape in only his second collegiate cross country meet, winning the men's 8K with a time of 23:14.5, earning ACC Men's Performer and Freshman of the Week honors in the process. Additionally, Ian Kibiwot placed seventh individually and Geoffrey Kirwa finished eighth, making Louisville the only school at the meet to place three men in the top 10.
