
Cardinals Close Road Trip Against Pitt

Louisville is riding a four-game winning streak into Thursday’s game
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Louisville women's basketball team (10-5, 3-1 ACC) is closing out its two-game road trip this week with a midweek matchup. The Cardinals are in the Steel City as they are set to take on the Pitt Panthers (8-8, 03 ACC) Thursday night. The Cards and Panthers are set to square off at 6 p.m. ET on Thursday and the game will be streamed on the ACC Network Extra.
The Cardinals have been used to being away from home this season as Thursday's game against the Panthers will be the seventh road game of their 16 games this year. Louisville is 5-1 in true road games this season and have won each of their last three games on the road. They have road wins over UT Martin (Nov. 12) and Colorado (Nov. 30) in the non-conference portion of their schedule and have conference road wins over Boston College (Dec. 29) and Wake Forest (Jan. 5). The five road wins is tied for the most in the ACC so far this season.
In the most recent win at Wake Forest on Sunday, the Cardinals prevailed in overtime thanks to a balanced scoring effort. Five players scored in double figures, led by a season-high 18 points on 8-for-10 shooting from Nyla Harris. Tajianna Roberts (17 points) scored in double figures for the team-leading 12th time this season and Olivia Cochran (13 points) tied a career high after shooting 9-for-9 from the free throw line. Izela Arenas (10 points) scored all her 10 points in the second quarter on 4-for-5 shooting and Jayda Curry (11 points) scored seven of her 11 in the overtime period.
Louisville was active on defense as it forced a season-high 28 turnovers against the Demon Deacons. It was the ninth time this season the Cardinals have forced 20 or more turnovers in a game this season. Louisville leads the ACC and ranks 35th nationally with 21.3 turnovers forced per game this season. The Cardinals tallied 11 steals against Wake Forest, the sixth-straight game they have had 10 or more steals.
