
Brennan Named Rowing Ireland Junior Rower of the Year

Class of 2025 signee Anna Brennan earns the national award following an impressive year
University of Louisville rowing signee Anna Brennan has been named the 2024 Rowing Ireland Junior Female Rower of the Year.

The Kilkenny, Ireland native earned the honor following an impressive year which was capped by a runner-up finish in the Under-23 category at Irish Indoor Rowing Championship. Â Some of her 2024 highlights include a seventh-place finish in the women's double at the 2024 World Rowing Championship and a fourth-place showing in the women's single at the National Schools Regatta. Additionally, she helped New Ross Boat Club capture its first national title at the Irish Rowing Championship.

"We were thrilled to hear of our incoming Cardinal, Anna Brennan, scooping Rowing Ireland's prestigious award this week," said UofL associate head coach Ed Oxlade. "It is a fitting tribute to the dedication that Anna put forward to excellence in her sport over the last few years. We share in celebrating her achievement with her federation, her club, her school, her coaches and her family, whose unwavering support has helped Anna thrive. We feel privileged to get to work with Anna as part of our exciting team next year and look forward to continuing to assist her on the next steps of her athletic and academic career."

Brennan will join the Cardinals in the fall of 2025.
