The rising senior capped off her stellar 2024 season with a toss of 61.08m (200-5).
PARIS, France – University of Louisville track & field athlete Jayden Ulrich concluded her 2024 season on Friday afternoon with an 18th-place finish in the women's discus throw at the Paris Olympics.
After fouling on her first two attempts, the rising senior recorded a toss of 61.08m (200-5) on her third and final attempt of the competition to finish just outside the top 12 finishers that punched their ticket to Monday's finals.
Her 18th-place finish at the Olympic Games caps off one of the best seasons in a Louisville uniform from a track & field athlete in school history.
In addition to becoming the first U.S. Olympian in program history after placing second in the discus at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in June, Ulrich was named the USTFCCCA Southeast Regional Women's Field Performer of the Year and ACC Women's Field Performer of the Year at the conclusion of the 2024 collegiate outdoor season.
She also became the first athlete in program history to place in the top-five nationally in multiple individual events after finishing as the runner-up in the women's discus throw and placing fourth in the women's shot put at the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Championships. During the indoor season, Ulrich was also tabbed as a First Team All-American in the women's shot put after finishing sixth in the event at the 2024 NCAA Indoor Championships.
A native of East Alton, Ill., Ulrich won a trio of individual ACC titles during the 2024 campaign while also setting outdoor program records in the women's shot put and women's discus throw, as well as setting an ACC conference and ACC Outdoor Championships meet record in the discus.
