
Ulrich Places Fourth Nationally in Shot Put at NCAA Outdoor Championships

EUGENE, Ore. – Jayden Ulrich notched a fourth-place finish in the women's shot put on Thursday evening as the University of Louisville women's track & field team began competition at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
The junior recorded a mark of 17.89m (58-8.5) on her first attempt to jump into the top-five nationally for the first time in her career while earning First Team All-American honors and racking up five points for the Cardinals.
With the fourth-place finish, Ulrich caps off a season in the shot put ring where she recorded four event victories in six meets while capturing the ACC title and setting a new program record at the NCAA East Regionals.
The native of East Alton, Ill. will look to become the first female in program history to earn a pair of top-five finishes at the same national championship meet when the women's discus throw gets underway at 5:05 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon.
Natalie Lark closed out her stellar season in the women's pole vault, earning Honorable Mention All-American distinction after qualifying for the national meet for the first time in her career.
The Cards will resume competition tomorrow evening at 8:30 p.m. ET when Brion Stephens takes part in the men's high jump in his first career showing at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
The meet will be streamed live on ESPN throughout the day, while field event-specific live streams can be found on ESPN+.
