
LaMont Russell Tabbed by USA Basketball for the U18 National Team

This is the second-straight year Russell has been selected by USA Basketball
COLORADO SPRINGS — Louisville women's basketball Director of Video and Graphic Design LaMont Russell will be representing the United States as he was named the video coordinator for USA Basketball's U18 National Team for the 2024 FIBA U18 Women's AmeriCup held in Colombia.
This is the second-straight year Russell has been selected by USA Basketball as he was the video coordinator for the 2023 AmeriCup squad that competed in Leon, Mexico. Last year's squad advanced to the finals after defeating Merissah Russell's Team Canada squad in the semifinals. The United States came away with silver after falling to Brazil in the gold medal game.
The 2024 FIBA U18 Women's AmeriCup will be held from June 17-23 in Bucaramanga, Colombia. Team USA held its training camp in Colorado Springs before heading south to Colombia for the tournament. USA recently drew into Group B with Brazil, Mexico and Puerto Rico. The USA will tip off competition June 17 vs. Brazil at 4:10 p.m. ET followed by tilts against Puerto Rico and Mexico on June 18 (4:10 p.m. ET) and 19 (1:40 p.m. ET), respectively. The USA women own 11 of 13 gold U18 gold medals and 10-consecutive dating back to 2000. The top four teams will earn a berth to the 2025 FIBA U19 Women's World Cup.
