
Frizell Earns NFCA Southeast Region Honors

Riley Frizell named to NFCA All-Southeast Region First Team
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville's Riley Frizell was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Southeast Region first team as announced by the organization today.
The awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association's 10 regions with first, second and third-team selections. NFCA member head coaches from each respective region nominated student-athletes and voted for the teams. All awarded student-athletes now become eligible for the 2024 NFCA Division I All-America squads.Â

Frizell, a senior from Willoughby, Ohio, takes home the first team regional honor after leading the Cardinals with a .337 batting average, 56 hits, 49 RBIs and a .651 slugging percentage. The 2024 All-ACC third team selection belted out a team-best 13 home runs and stands tied for eighth on Louisville's all-time single season list.

She transferred to Louisville after three years at Missouri and went on to start every game primarily at first base in 2024. One of the Cardinals' most consistent hitters, Frizell put together a 20-game streak of reaching base safely via a hit or walk and finished the season reaching safely in 45 of Louisville's 52 contests. She also tied for the team lead with 13 multi-hit games and had nine multi-RBI games.
