AUGUSTA, Ga. — The University of Louisville women's golf team has begun the Valspar Augusta Invitational after the start of the tournament was moved up a day due to impending weather. The Cardinals have concluded the first round of play and are roughly halfway through the second round before play was suspended due to darkness. After the first round and a half, Louisville is 10-over-par as a team and in 15th place.
Carmen Griffiths leads the Cardinals and is tied for 38th at 1-over-par as she is through nine holes in her second round. Griffiths tallied six birdies over the 27 holes of play today.
One stroke behind Griffiths is Rylee Suttor, who is 2-over-par and tied for 48th overall and she is through 12 holes in her second round. Suttor had four birdies during her round today. Hana Ryskova is one stroke behind Suttor at 3-over-par and tied for 59th overall through 10 holes in her second round. She recorded three birdies in her first round to start the day on Friday.
Beatriz Barrios is tied for 70th overall at 5-over-par through 11 holes in her second round. Rounding out the Cardinals is Gabbi Bentancourt at 11-over-par and tied for 84th through 10 holes in the second round.
The Cardinals will be off tomorrow due to the weather in the area. The tournament will start back up on Sunday morning with the conclusion of the second round before the third round will be played to conclude the tournament.
