No. 16/12 Cardinals Set for Road Clash with No. 5 NC State

This fifth-ranked Wolfpack are the second of four-straight ranked opponents the Cardinals will face
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The No. 16/12 Louisville women's basketball team (19-3, 8-1 ACC) is hitting the road and a Top-5 road clash is on deck as they head down to Raleigh, North Carolina. The Cardinals are set to face off with the No. 5 NC State Wolfpack (19-2, 7-2 ACC) on Monday from Reynolds Coliseum. The Cardinals and Wolfpack are set to face off at 7 p.m. ET and the game will be aired nationally on ESPN2.
The fifth-ranked Wolfpack are the highest ranked team the Cardinals have faced so far this season. They are the second of four-straight ranked opponents they will face over the next few weeks. Monday's game against the Wolfpack will begin a stretch of three-ranked opponents over the next six days with No. 14 Notre Dame on Thursday and a rematch with No. 21 Syracuse the following Sunday. So far this season, the Cardinals are 5-2 against teams that are currently or previously ranked in the Top-25.
The Cardinals are coming off an 81-69 win over No. 21 Syracuse this past Thursday to kick off this ranked-opponent stretch. Nyla Harris had another strong game against the Orange with a career high 14 rebounds and tied a career high with 18 points. She set the career high in points against the Orange last season. The 14 rebounds were the most by a Louisville player in a game this season. It was Harris' third double-double of the season, which leads the team.
Kiki Jefferson had a team-best 21 points on 6-for-12 shooting and was 9-for-11 from the free throw line. It was the fourth-time she has scored 20 points or more in a game this season, which leads the team. She has scored 20 or more points in two of her last three games after scoring a season-high 27 against Boston College on January 25.
In the win over the Orange, the Cardinals shot 28-for-56 (50 percent) from the field. It was the sixth time the Cardinals have shot 50 percent or better from the field against ACC opponents in their nine games this season and they are 6-0 in those games. In conference games, Louisville leads the league with a 50.3 shooting percent from the field. The second-best team in the league (Virginia Tech) is shooting just 46.4 percent from the field in conference games this season.
