Cardinals Head North for Tuesday Trip to Boston College

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — Louisville men's basketball hits the road for a two-game swing this week, starting at Boston College at 9 p.m. ET Tuesday in Chestnut Hill, Mass. The game will air on ACC Network.

The Cardinals have won two of their last three, including Saturday's 79-67 victory over Georgia Tech in which they finished the game on a dominant 28-7 run. Boston College has lost two in a row, most recently falling 80-65 at Duke on Saturday.

Louisville leads the all-time series over the Eagles 10-6, with a 4-3 advantage on the road. Boston College eliminated the Cardinals from last year's ACC Tournament in the first round.

• After getting outrebounded in eight straight games by a total of 53 boards, Louisville has won the rebounding battle in four of the last five games and has outrebounded its opponents by a combined 45 over those five outings.

• Freshman forward Kaleb Glenn recorded his first double-double vs. Georgia Tech on Saturday with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Glenn grabbed nine offensive rebounds, which were the most by a Cardinal since Chane Behanan in 2012, and the most by a UofL freshman on record.

• Louisville had six players reach double figures scoring against Georgia Tech. It was the first time the Cardinals have accomplished the feat since Feb. 5, 2020, against Wake Forest.

• Over the last 15 games, Brandon Huntley-Hatfield is averaging 15.0 points and 8.7 rebounds while shooting 59.4% from the field (85 of 143) with six double-doubles. He had two double-doubles in the first 68 games of his career.

• Guard Ty-Laur Johnson is one of five Louisville freshmen since 1992 to record at least 85 assists in a season, joining Edgar Sosa (2006-07), current team Video Coordinator Reece Gaines (1999-00), DeJuan Wheat (1993-94) and Jason Osborne (1993-94), the father of senior forward JJ Traynor.

• UofL is one of two teams in the nation, along with New Mexico, with five different players who have scored at least 26 points in a game this season – Huntley-Hatfield (29), Tre White (29), Skyy Clark (29), Johnson (27) and Mike James (26).

Rebounding woes held Louisville men's basketball back as the Cardinals' season came to a close with an 80-62 loss to Boston College in the first round of the 2023 New York Life ACC Men's Basketball Tournament.

Louisville allowed 14 offensive rebounds and 17 second-chance points to the Eagles, including 11 offensive boards and 13 second-chance points in the second half.

That allowed Boston College to overcome UofL's three-point halftime lead and advance.

Boston College outrebounded UofL 40-29. Makai Ashton-Langford led the Eagles with 16 points and five rebounds.

El Ellis had 16 points and five assists to pace Louisville. Brandon Huntley-Hatfield added 13 points, and JJ Traynor finished with 12 points and seven boards.
