The Cardinals defeat Cavaliers in Fourth-Quarter Comeback
October 12, 2024 | Football
Tyler Shough hit a wide open Jamari Johnson for the game-winning touchdown with under two minutes to play.
Issac Brown rushed for 146 yards and scored two touchdowns for the Cardinals. Brown became the second true freshman in Louisville history to have three 100-yard rushing games joining Lamar Jackson, who had five.
Defensively, Tamarion McDonald led the Cardinals with nine tackles in the win. Ashton Gillotte picked up his 24th career sack to move into a tie with Marcus Smith for 7th place on Louisville's career sacks list.
Louisville Head Coach Jeff Brohm Said:
"Really proud of our football team to come on the road, beat a team that is 2-0 in the conference. A back and forth game that wasn't perfect by any means but it was a hard work man-like job that our team did. I was proud of the work they put in this week and was proud of the coaches. We made some strides; obviously there is more to do, and many improvements to make; but we came out with a win so I'm proud of our football team; they did a really good job.
