Cardinals Set for Tar Heel Invitational

This is the second to last tournament for the Cards this fall
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Louisville women's golf team is off on the road again this week as they head to North Carolina for the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational. The tournament is being held by the University of North Carolina at the Finley Golf Club and will begin on Friday morning and conclude Sunday afternoon.
This is the second time in the last three years the Cardinals will compete in the tournament. The last time they competed in it in 2022, the Cards finished tied for fifth out of 14 total teams. Back in 2022, Carmen Griffiths led the way with a tie for sixth place finish. She also carded a hole in one during the second round of action.
Griffiths will be back on the course once again for the Cardinals this weekend. She leads the team with three par or better rounds this year and has tallied one Top-5 finish and two Top-10 finishes. She has the best individual finish of any player this season after her tie for second at the Cardinal Cup.
Millie Cottrell will be out on the course for the Cards in North Carolina. She has participated in all three tournaments this fall and her best finish was at the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational where she finished tied for 18th.
Thienna Huynh is another Cardinal that has competed in all three tournaments this fall. She also has two Top-10 finishes this season and her best finish was a tie for ninth at the Cardinal Cup.
Veronika Exposito is back in action for the Cards after not competing at The Blessings. She has two tournaments under her belt and finished tied for 27th at each event.
Beatriz Barrios is coming off her best tournament of the fall last time out at The Blessings. She led the Cardinals with a tie for 13th finish at 9-over-par for the tournament. It was her best finish of the season so far.
Gabbi Bentancourt rounds out the squad for the Cardinals, as she will be competing as an individual this weekend. She has competed in two tournaments this fall and her best finish was at the Cardinal Cup (T43).
The first round will get underway at 8:30 a.m. ET for the Cardinals as they will all begin the round on hole No. 10. Fans can follow along with the live stats here or can stay tuned to our social media channels.
