Louisville Begins ITA All-Americans and Alabama's Four-In-The-Fall Tournament

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville men's tennis will continue its fall season with Alabama's Four-In-The-Fall tournament as well as the ITA All-American Championships. The Crimson Tide even is slated for September 29-October 1 while the All-American Championships are spread out over nine days between September 30-October 8.

Traveling to Alabama will be four freshmen in Piet Steveker, Miguel Avendaño, Evan Duggal and Russell Lokko. The four will be competing against Alabama, Middle Tennessee and Tulane from Friday through Sunday.

Each school in the tournament has two teams that are made up of two athletes that will compete in a compass draw. Advancing teams must win two of the three matches between a doubles match and two singles matches.

Andre Steinbach and Will Mayew will head to Tulsa, Okla., for pre-qualifying in the All-Americans while Etienne Donnet and Natan Rodrigues will join later in the week for the main draw.

Steinbach and Mayew will compete in pre-qualifying September 30-October 1 with the goal of advancing to the qualifying round October 2-4. The Cardinals boast two players ranked in the ITA preseason singles rankings: Donnet (24) and Rodrigues (42). Those rankings send the duo straight to the main draw which is October 5-8.
