Seventh-Seeded Cardinals Open ACC Tournament against No. 10 Seed Notre Dame Thursday

The Cards will face Notre Dame for the second time in a week
The University of Louisville men's tennis team has earned the No. 7 seed in the 2023 Atlantic Coast Conference Championships and will open tournament play against 10th-seeded Notre Dame Thursday at 6 p.m.

LOUISVILLE NOTES
• Louisville enters tournament with a 15-10 overall record and finished the season with a 6-6 mark in ACC play.
• UofL stands at No. 36 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association national rankings released on April 18. The Cards dropped four spots after beating then-No. 58 Notre Dame 4-0 and falling 4-1 to No. 28 MTSU.
• UofL spent four weeks in the top 25 this season, reaching as high as No. 20 on Feb. 28.
• The Cardinals have won their last four ACC matches with victories against then-No. 25 NC State, Boston College, Georgia Tech and No. 58 Clemson.
• Louisville has won the doubles point in 16 of its 25 matches this season with a 14-4 when winning the doubles point.
NOTE: In the 4-2 loss against then-No. 22 Duke, the teams played singles first and did not contest the double point due to weather/time constraints

The da Silva Era
Head coach Rodrigo da Silva is in his fourth season with the Cards and now holds a 52-36 record with the progam, while registering a 140-118 overall career record. Last season, he guided the Cardinals to a 19-8 overall record and their first-ever ACC semifinal appearance. In 2022, UofL also earned an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2017.

Cardinal Player Notes
• Etienne Donnet leads the way in the national singles rankings at No. 34 while carrying a 24-7 overall record and a 17-4 mark in dual matches playing mostly at No. 2. He carries a 6-3 record in ACC play.
• Fabien Salle is slotted at No. 61 with a 26-9 singles record and a 12-4 tally in dual matches playing primarily at No. 3. He is 8-3 against ACC opponents
• Natan Rodrigues rounds out the ranked singles players at No. 79 with a 19-11 overall singles record and going 8-8 in dual matches mostly at No. 1. He leads the team with 29 doubles wins.
• The tandem of Rodrigues and Salle stand at No. 11 in the doubles rankings while teaming for a 23-7 record and going 7-3 as Louisville's top-seeded team.
• Salle returns to Louisville after transferring to Arizona State for his senior year and currently leads the team with 26 wins in singles. In his previious stint a Louisville, he was an All-ACC second team selection in as a junior in 2021.
• Senior Etienne Donnet was an All-ACC first-team selection following the 2021-22 season.
• David Mizrahi registered a team-best 22-11 overall singles record in the 2021-22 season.
