
Cards' Recipients of ACC’s Top Six For Community Service Announced

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — University of Louisville student-athletes Ashley Osborne, J Pleck, Bradley Sample, Emmanual Sowders, Krista Wheeler and Kameron Wilson have been named winners of the ACC's Top Six For Community Service award.
The Top Six for Service is awarded annually to six student-athletes from each ACC institution. The award recognizes student-athletes who have demonstrated outstanding community service and community relations.
To be eligible for this award, each student-athlete must log hours at community service events and programs. A Top Six for Service award recipient is known to be dedicated to serving others and have shown a passion for enriching the lives of others.
Ashley Osborne of lacrosse upped her community engagement involvement this year, increasing her involvement with Blessings in a Backpack, WaterStep, adaptive community programs, children's hospital initiatives and more.
J Pleck of lacrosse focused her community involvement on Blessings in a Backpack, adaptive community programs, UofL MLK Day of Service, Girls on the Run events, the Thanksgiving Meal Drive and youth sports.
Bradley Sample of men's soccer is a multiple-time recipient of the Top Six for Service award. This year, he was involved with adaptive sports, local animal shelters, youth sports programs and community centers, and the UofL MLK Day of Service.
Emmanual Sowders of football spent time this year at the Ronald McDonald House, contributed to the Thanksgiving Meal Drive, supported the RaiseRed Dance Marathon and participated in the UofL MLK Day of Service.
Krista Wheeler of swim/dive is significantly involved in youth ministry, in addition to hear work with adaptive sports, Special Olympics events, Blessings in a Backpack, reading to elementary school children and supporting the RaiseRed Dance Marathon.
Kameron Wilson of football took on the role of mentoring students monthly at Breckinridge-Franklin Elementary School. Additionally, he collaborated on the Thanksgiving Meal Drive and committed significant efforts to the UofL MLK Day of Service.
