
Kallenberg, 400m Hurdlers Lead Off Split Weekend

AUSTIN, Texas – The University of Louisville track and field teams kicked off their split weekend of competition on Thursday with a trio of athletes competing at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays and the Texas State Bobcat Invitational.
Paul Kallenberg began his weekend at the Bobcat Invitational by earning fifth place in the unseeded section of the men's pole vault, clearing a height of 5.00m (16-4.75) that stands as a new outdoor personal best. He then took fourth place in the unseeded section of the men's javelin with a throw of 52.06m (170-10) after also leaping 6.99m (22-11.75) in the long jump.
At the Texas Relays, Katie Martin led the way in the women's 400m hurdles as the senior improved by over two seconds on her season-best time from two weeks ago, clocking 58.26, while freshman Jourdin Edwards notched a time of 1:01.72.
Competition at the Texas Relays will resume tomorrow morning at 10:35 a.m. ET with the women's 4x100m relay set to be contested as the first event of the day.
Out in California, the Cardinals will be represented in the women's 5000m at 2:54 p.m. ET by Madeline Castleberry and Sydney Partyka at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic, while Isaac Kiprop will compete in the 3000m steeplechase at the Stanford Invitational at 9:05 p.m. ET.
