
Cards Set to Split Weekend Between Texas and California

Louisville will be represented at four different meets this weekend.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville track and field teams will split between four meets on the road from Mar. 30-Apr. 1 with athletes heading to the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, Stanford Invitational, Mike Fanelli Track Classic, and the Texas State Bobcat Invitational.
The Cardinals will travel 23 athletes to Austin, Texas for the 95th running of the Texas Relays, one of the most prestigious outdoor events in the nation for both collegiate and high school athletes. Competition will begin on Thursday afternoon at 5:30 p.m. ET with the women's 400m hurdles.
All six Louisville athletes who competed at the 2023 NCAA Indoor Championships three weeks ago are set to compete in Austin, five of whom are making their first outdoor appearance this season.
Paul Kallenberg will be the lone Louisville athlete competing at Texas State's Bobcat Invitational competing in four events, starting tomorrow afternoon with the men's pole vault set for 2:00 p.m. ET.
Five distance athletes will also compete this weekend, three at the Stanford Invitational and two at San Francisco State's Mike Fanelli Track Classic. Ryan Farrell, Ian Kibiwot, and Isaac Kiprop are slated to toe the line in Palo Alto while Madeline Castleberry and Sydney Partyka will compete up the road in San Francisco.
Castleberry and Partyka will both race in the first section of the women's 5000m on Friday at 2:55 p.m. ET while Kiprop kicks off the Stanford Invitational for Louisville at 8:48 p.m. ET in the men's 3000m steeplechase on Friday night. Kibiwot will be featured in the men's 10000m at 1:41 a.m. ET on Saturday morning, and Farrell will cap off the meet in the men's 800m at 2:15 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon.
