
Cards Hold the Lead after First Day at the All-American

HUMBLE, Texas - The 36th-ranked University of Louisville men's golf team holds an eight-shot lead after two rounds of action on Monday at the All-American Intercollegiate, held at the par-72, 7,425-yard Golf Club of Houston. The Cardinals carded a 10-under-par 278 in the first round and an even-par 288 second round.Â
The Cardinals are ahead of second place Kansas State, which shot a 2-under-par 574 for the two rounds. K-State is tied with No. 14 Tennessee and No. 29 Ole Miss, while it leads two other ranked opponents in No. 47 LSU and No. 46 Houston.Â
A tight 107-man leaderboard, which is led by Santiago De La Feunte of Houston and Jake Hall of Tennessee at 7-under par 137, has Louisville's Max Kennedy right there in third place just one shot off the lead. Kennedy shot a pair of 69s on Monday after recording just three bogeys over the 36 holes of action.
Kennedy is riding a streak of three-top 10 finishes and is one pace for his first career win.Â

Sebastian Moss and Jiri Zuska are also in the top 10 after Monday's round, Moss is in eighth after shooting a 3-under 141 and Zuska is tied for ninth just one shot back of his teammate at 142. Â Moss, who is playing in his hometown, opened play with a 4-under-par 68, which tied him for the lead. However, a second round 73 dropped him to eighth.
Zuska carded a 72-70=142 to finish his day at 2-under par, while Mads Roddik played his best rounds since transferring to Louisville. He is tied for 23rd after shooting a 1-over-par 145. Â Pierce Grieve rounded out the top five with a 15-over 159.
