Cards improve to 8-2 on the season

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The 23^rd-ranked University of Louisville men's tennis team defeated Indiana 4-0 Friday evening at the IU Tennis Center. With the win, the Cardinals improve to 8-2 on the season while the Hoosiers drop to 8-2.

Louisville took the doubles point to start the match. The duo of Etienne Donnet and Sergio Hernandez bested Luka Vukovic and Ekansh Kumar 6-1 on court three to give Louisville the early advantage. David Mizrahi and Matthew Fung clinched the point with a 6-4 win over Sam Landau and Luc Boulier at the two-spot. Court one featured a battle between Louisville's 14^th-ranked Fabien Salle and Natan Rodrigues and Indiana's No. 46-ranked Patrick Fletchall and Ilya Tiraspolsky with the score tied a 5-5 when the point was secured.

In singles action, Mizrahi added to Louisville's lead with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Ekansh Kumar at No. 6. Sergio Hernandez followed at the five-spot with a 6-3, 6-2 decision against Jagger Saylor. On court one, No. 47 Rodrigues edged Fletchall 7-6 in the first set and cruised to a 6-1 win in the second to seal the win for the Cardinals.

UofL will return to action on Feb. 25 when Belmont visits the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
