Louisville looks to sweep the season series against the Orange
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The University of Louisville women's basketball team is back on the road as it finishes off the two-game road trip this week. The Cardinals head north and are set to take on Syracuse on Sunday, January 29. The Cardinals and Orange are set to square off from the JMA Wireless Dome at 12 p.m. and it will be aired nationally on ACC Network.
Louisville is looking to avoid a three-game losing streak as they take on the Orange for the second time this season. Louisville has not lost three ACC games in a row since they joined the league in 2014-15. The last time the Cardinals lost three games in a row at all was the 2011-12 season.
The Cardinals are looking to sweep the season series with the Orange after they defeated Syracuse 86-77 at the KFC Yum! Center on Dec. 29. The Cardinals have already swept the season series with Pitt this year and have beaten Boston College in the first of their two meetings. Dating back to the 2020-21 season, the Cardinals have swept seven-straight season series against ACC opponents.

They have dropped ACC results against Notre Dame (56-72), Georgia Tech (57-69) and Duke (50-62). Dyashia Fair leads the Orange with 19.9 points per game and she also has a team-high 4.1 assists. Her 19.9 points per game is tied for second in the ACC with Hailey Van Lith. In ACC games. Fair leads the league with 20.7 points per game and Van Lith is second with 20.1. Dariauna Lewis leads the Orange with 8.9 rebounds per game and is one of four players to average nine points or more per game.

The Cardinals (11-4, 2-0) move their winning streak to six while shooting over 50 percent from the field for the third-consecutive game. Hailey Van Lith led the Cardinals with 24 points, six assists, and five rebounds in the victory. Morgan Jones and Olivia Cochran added 15 points and seven rebounds apiece, while Chrislyn Carr registered 12 points, knocking down four three-pointers. Nyla Harris chipped in with eight points and a career-high 10 rebounds. Louisville shot 52 percent from the field and 41 percent from three-point range. Dyashia Fair, who was the third-leading scorer in the ACC heading into the game, was held to a season-low field goal percentage, 17 percent, shooting 3 of 18 from the field.
