LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's soccer program was recognized as a recipient of the 2021-22 United Soccer Coaches College Team Academic Award for their work in the classroom during the last academic year.
The award honors programs that posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the 2021-22 academic year. The Cardinals have received the award in four of the last five seasons.
Louisville turned in a cumulative team GPA of 3.101 during the 2021-22 academic year, with 17 student-athletes on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll.
The Cardinals paired the great success in the classroom with a strong performance on the field in 2021. Louisville finished with a 10-7-1 overall record in John Michael Hayden's third season at the helm, securing the program's first ACC Atlantic Division crown. The Cards reached the NCAA Tournament for the 13th time in program history.
Louisville takes the field for the first time on Aug. 13 in a road exhibition at Lipscomb. The first regular season match of the year is scheduled for Aug. 25 against Saint Louis at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium.
