Cardinals Garner USTFCCCA Academic Honors

The University of Louisville men's and women's track and field teams collected All-Academic Team honors as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). In addition to the team awards, 17 student-athletes individually were named All-Academic Athletes.

On the women's side, UofL earned the team award for the 18th straight year after posting a 3.326 collective GPA in the 2021-22 indoor and outdoor seasons. The Cardinals' All-Academic Athlete selections for the women include: Morgan Bentley, Soledad Jean, Gabriela Leon, Synclair Savage, Emily Scott, Auriane Viola, Brooke Weimer, Aliyah Welter.

The men garnered the All-Academic Team award for the fifth straight year with a cumulative team GPA of 3.174. Representing the Cardinals on the men's side are: Ben Ewert, Zach Frye, Bryan Hudson,
Paul Kallenberg, Isaac Kiprop, Ty McPhail, Luke Nichols, Sean Roth and Adar Sheer.
About the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team
In order to qualify for All-Academic status, a team must carry a season cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher and have completed at least two (2) semesters at the institution. Athletic criteria for the award are as follows:
For the indoor season:Â must have finished the season ranked in the top 96 in any championship individual event, or in the top 48 in any championship relay event, for the most recent indoor season, certifiable by their place on final season performance lists on TFRRS for Indoor Track and Field (including performances achieved outside the qualifying window during the indoor season).
For the outdoor season: must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships (the Preliminary Championship Competition and/or the Final Championship Competition) or for the multi-events, must have finished the season ranked in the top 48 in the East or top 48 in the West for the most recent outdoor season, certifiable by their place on the NCAA Division I.
