
Willis and Roth Earn All-American Honors on Day One of NCAA Outdoor Championships

EUGENE, Ore. – Jeremiah Willis and Sean Roth earned second-team All-American honors for the University of Louisville track and field team on the opening day of the 2022 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Oregon's Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.

Willis recorded a top-mark of 7.54m (23-5.5) on his third attempt to finish 11th in the men's long jump. He concludes the outdoor season with four wins and a top-three finish in seven of eight meets. The redshirt sophomore posted a personal-best of 7.91m (25-11.5) at the NCAA East Region Preliminary Round that ranks as the second-best outdoor performance mark in program history and finished third at the ACC Championships to secure his top-finish and first podium at the conference meet.

Roth cleared a height of 5.30m (17-4.5) to close out his collegiate career with a 16th-place finish in the men's pole vault. The mark ranks as the second-highest outdoor bar of his career and third-highest overall behind his indoor and outdoor school records. Roth earned his top-finish at the ACC Championships with a runner-up and personal-best mark of 5.33m (17-5.75) this season.

Gabriela Leon and Aliyah Welter will be first to compete on Thursday in the women's pole vault at 9:00 p.m. ET. Synclair Savage follows in the women's long jump at 10:00 p.m. ET, while Katie Martin concludes the second day of competition in the women's 400-meter hurdles semifinals at 10:30 p.m. ET.
