
Volleyball Unveils 2022 Schedule

The Cardinals have an exciting slate as they seek to repeat last year's historic run
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The University of Louisville volleyball team has released the 2022 schedule that will feature 13 home matches, two home tournaments and a match played at the KFC Yum! Center.

Coming off a historic season in 2021 that saw the Cardinals post an undefeated 28-0 regular season and a No. 1 ranking and Louisville's first trip to the Final Four, head coach Dani Busboom Kelly has crafted a highly-competitive schedule with ample opportunities to ramp up the team's RPI.

Louisville heads to South Dakota for a tournament with Northern Kentucky, South Dakota and Missouri to kick off the season on August 26-27 before heading to Bowling Green to face intrastate rival Western Kentuckyu on Aug. 31.

The Cardinals will host back-to-back tournament led by the Cardinal Classic Tournament to will feature San Diego and Ohio State on Sept. 2-4. The Louisville Invitational follows on Sept. 9-10 with the yearly matchup between Purdue, Xavier and Lipscomb. Both tournaments will be played in L&N Federal Credit Union Arena.

A faceoff with Kentucky is scheduled for Sept. 14 in Lexington and a first-ever meeting with Stanford in Palo Alto pm Sept. 17 wraps up the non-conference season.

UofL begins the Atlantic Coast Conference schedule on the road with a trip to Miami on Sept. 23 and Florida State on Sept. 25 before coming home on Sept. 30 for the home opener with Clemson and Georgia Tech on Oct. 2.

The Cardinals will head east to Boston College on Oct. 7, and to Syracuse on Oct. 9 before returning to L&N Arena for Virginia Tech (Oct. 14) and Wake Forest (Oct. 16).

Louisville heads to Virginia on Oct. 21 to face the Cavaliers before heading to a matchup with long-time conference rival Pittsburgh on Oct. 23.

Fans of the Cardinals will have a chance to set new attendance records as UofL will face rival Notre Dame on Oct. 26 at the KFC Yum! Center to kickoff a four-match homestand. Next will be Duke (Oct. 28), NC State (Nov. 4) and North Carolina (Nov. 6) all taking place back at L&N Arena.

NCAA Regional opponent Georgia Tech will seek revenge on the Cardinals in Atlanta on Nov. 11 before UofL heads to Chapel Hill on Nov. 13 to face North Carolina.

The rematch with Pittsburgh will happen on Nov. 18 in L&N Arena as the final home match of the season with the Cards facing Notre Dame in South Bend on Nov. 23 to wrap up the regular season.
