
Trey Allen Earns First-Team Honors at NCAA Outdoor Championships

EUGENE, Ore. – Trey Allen and Adar Sheere turned in impressive performances to close out competition for the University of Louisville track and field team on the third day of the 2022 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Oregon's Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.

Allen recorded a height of 2.18m (7.1.75) to finish seventh and secure first-team All-American honors in the men's high jump. The redshirt sophomore has now cleared the mark in four meets this season. Friday's competition marks Allen's second straight NCAA Outdoor Championships appearance and his top-finish at a national meet. Earlier this season, he set a personal-best of 2.21m (7-3) at the Louisville Invitational that finished the season as the top-height in the ACC and is tied for the third best outdoor performer mark in program history. Allen also finished in the top-seven in all seven outdoor meets with three wins and secured the men's high jump title with the same height at the ACC Outdoor Championships this season.

In his third straight NCAA Outdoor Championships, Sheere recorded a mark of 55.11m (180-9) to finish 19th and earn honorable mention All-American honors in the men's discus throw. He finished the outdoor season with a top-five discus throw finish in six of eight meets with four wins. Sheere set a new personal-best discus throw of 58.04m (190-5) this season that ranks as the third best performer mark in program history.
