
Allen and Sheere Return to Eugene on Day Three of NCAA East Preliminary Round

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Trey Allen and Adar Sheere will return to Eugene for the second straight year after posting qualifying marks for the University of Louisville track and field team on day three of the 2022 NCAA Division I Outdoor East Preliminary Round Friday at Indiana's Robert C. Haugh Complex in Bloomington, Ind.

Allen notched a height of 2.18m (7-1.75) to secure his spot in the men's jump. The ACC Outdoor Champion was down to his final attempt at 2.15m (7-0.5) before clearing the bar and then besting it on his first attempt at the top bar. The redshirt sophomore has now cleared the height in four meets this outdoor season.

On his first attempt, Sheere earned his ticket to his third consecutive NCAA Championships with the fifth farthest throw of the men's discus field at 57.32m (188-1). The heave is the second best mark of the season for Sheere. Â

Sterling Warner-Savage clocked a time of 10.27 seconds that stood 15th in the men's 100-meter quarterfinals. The senior reestablished the school record with a time of 10.15 seconds in the first round.

The Cardinals currently have seven national qualifiers through the first three days of competition, tying the most since 2018.

Katherine Coffey will kick off the final day of action in the women's discus throw at 1:00 p.m. ET. Action will run until the conclusion of the women's 4x400-meter relay at 8:45 p.m. ET.
