Nick Albiero Named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District

Albiero's name will advance on the ballot for CoSIDA Academic All-American
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- University of Louisville All-American swimmer Nicolas Albiero was chosen for the 2021-22 Academic All-District® Men'sTeam, selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom.

Albiero had a dominant Louisville career as he established himself as one of the premier collegiate swimmers in the nation. He was named ACC Men's Swimmer of the Year for the second consecutive year after winning the 200 butterfly at the ACC Championships for an ACC-record fifth consecutive year. He earned seven All-America honors this season, finishing third in the 200 butterfly, sixth in the 100 butterfly, and sixth in the 100 backstroke. He was also a member of the 200 medley relay, 400 medley relay, 800 freestyle relay, and 400 freestyle which all earned All-America honors. He was also named as the ACC Scholar Athlete of the Year and was selected to the All-ACC Academic Team for the fifth straight year.

He finished his eligibility as a two-time NCAA Champion and 28-time All-American 12 of which were for individual All-American honors. He scored 152 career individual points (4 years) for the Cardinals at NCAAs. He was a six-time ACC gold medalist winning 13 individual medals and 31 total medals for the Cardinals

First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in June.
