Louisville Heads to Indiana Invitational

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville track and field team is set to compete in their final regular season road meet this Friday and Saturday April 22-23 at the Indiana Invitational in Bloomington, Ind.
The event will be held at the Billy Hayes Track and Field Complex, which will serve as the site for the NCAA East Preliminary Round in May for the Cardinals within the top-48 of their respective events.
Taylor Herbert and Brooke Weimer will open the meet for Louisville in women's 200-meter at 5:30 p.m. ET. The first day of action will close out with Isaac Kiprop and Cooper Marchal competing in the men's 10000-meter at 10:15 p.m. ET. Competition resumes Saturday with a trio of Cardinals in the women's weight throw at 11:00 a.m. ET, while the last event that the Cardinals are expected to compete in will be Lindsey Fanz in the women's 800-meter at 4:25 p.m. ET.
The Cardinals are back in action following 10 event wins at the Louisville Invitational last weekend. Ian Kibiwot set the men's outdoor 3000-meter school record with a time of 8:08.03. Trey Allen and Emily Scott turned in impressive performances to claim the top men's and women's high jump marks in the ACC. Allen surpassed his 2.18m (7-1.75) mark at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays with a first-place and personal-best height of 2.21m (7-3) and Scott exceeded her previous personal best on two separate heights with a first-place mark of 1.81m (5-11.25). Cade Richeson recorded a personal-best heave of 18.49m (60-8) to win the men's shot put. The throw is the second best performer mark in outdoor program history.
