Synclair Savage and Jeremiah Willis Sweep Long Jump at Tiger Classic

AUBURN, Ala. – Synclair Savage and Jeremiah Willis swept the long jump to highlight the first day of the Tiger Classic at the Hutsell-Rosen Track.

Willis recorded a mark of 7.67m (25-2) on his final attempt to take the men's long jump, while Savage earned an outdoor personal-best clearance of 6.09m (19-11.75) to win the women's side. Riley Burger finished with an outdoor personal-best mark 5.49m (18-0.25) for seventh.

Tiana Bazie and Katherine Coffey each earned personal-best heaves in the women's hammer throw. Bazie recorded a throw of 56.89m (186-7) to place second, while Coffey surpassed her previous best with a mark of 53.05m (174-0) for ninth.

Ryan Farrell posted a time of 3:50.75 to finish second in his collegiate 1500-meter debut, while Callie Friske closed out the day's events with a personal-best time of 18:40.42 in the women's 5000-meter.

Saturday's field events open at noon eastern time with the women's pole vault and men's hammer throw, while track events are set to start with the women's 4x100-meter at 1:00 p.m. ET. The meet will close out with the men's 4x400-meter at 5:35 p.m. ET. Live results will be continue to be provided through Delta Timing.
