Louisville men are looking to defend their 2021 title
GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com)Â - The 2022 ACC Swimming & Diving Championships will be contested Tuesday through Saturday in Atlanta at Georgia Tech's McAuley Aquatic Pavilion. ACC Network Extra will have live coverage of the entire event.

• McAuley Aquatic Center is hosting the ACC Championships for the sixth time and the first since 2017. The facility also will host the NCAA Championships in March, with the women's event running from March 16-19 and the men's from March 23-26.

• Louisville is the reigning men's ACC team champion after snapping NC State's streak of six straight titles last year. In winning their first ACC team title, the Cardinals won by just two points over NCSU, the smallest margin of victory in ACC history.

• Led by top-ranked Virginia, eight ACC women's teams are ranked in the CSCAA poll, tied for the most of any conference. NC State (4), Louisville (7), North Carolina (21), Virginia Tech (22), Notre Dame (23), Florida State (24) and Duke (T25) also are ranked among the top 25.

• Six ACC men's programs were ranked in the latest CSCAA poll: NC State (2), Virginia Tech (8), Louisville (10), Virginia (15), Florida State (21) and Georgia Tech (22).

A QUICK LOOK AT THE LOUISVILLE WOMEN
GABI ALBIERO |So. |Louisville, Ky. Â
Gabi is entered in the 50 free (22.09), 200 fly (1:55.42), the 100 fly (51.63) and the 100 free (48.14). Psych sheet has her 4th in the 50, 2nd in the 100 fly, and 4th in the 100 free. She is a six time All-American for UofL. Last year, she made waves as a freshman at ACCs. She qualified for the NCAA Championships where she finished 14th in the 50 freestyle (22.27), 15th in the 200 butterfly (1:56.30), and 27th in the 100 butterfly (52.35). She was the lead-off on UofL's eighth-place 200 freestyle relay in 22.13 and the 400 freestyle relay in 48.60 that finished 10th. Albiero also split a 51.44 on the 400 medley relay that finished sixth and anchored the 200 medley relay in 21.68 that took 12th. At the ACC Championships, she earned bronze in the 50 freestyle (22.03), placed fourth in the 100 butterfly (51.59), and finished ninth in the 200 butterfly (1:55.24). Her time of 22.03 in the 50 freestyle broke the UofL program record for freshmen. Albiero was also on four Cardinal relays that earned bronze: 200 medley relay (21.62), 200 freestyle relay (22.13), 400 medley relay (51.26), and 400 freestyle relay (48.68). She is one of three sibling pairs on the Cardinal roster along with her brother, Nick. Daughter of head coach Arthur Albiero.

Mariia qualified for three NCAAs, put up some of the top three times in the 100 and 200 breaststroke and is an eight-time all-American. She helped set the school record in the 400 medley relay in 2018.  Missed last year due to COVID restrictions on travel.

Diana is entered in the 200 IM (2:01.71), the 200 free (1:46.81, the 100 free (50.74) and 200 breast (2:13.64). Diana has gone to three NCAA Championships as a relay swimmer, qualified for ACCs all four years so far and was a part of one of the top ten fastest relay times in the 800 Free Relay last year at the NCAAs where she won All-American honors.
ADELINE FARRINGTON | So. | Alpharetta, Ga.
She is entered in the 200 IM (2:07.32), the 100 breast (1:00.28), the 50 free (24.12) and the 200 breast (2:13.98). Adeline qualified for the 2021 NCAA Championships, finishing 19th in the 100 breaststroke (59.50) and 48th in the 200 breaststroke (2:13.69). At last year's ACC Championships, she placed eighth in the 100 breaststroke (59.73), 11th in the 200 breaststroke (2:11.42), and 29th in the 200 individual medley (2:01.71).Â

Morgan is entered in the 200 IM (2:06.42) , the 200 breast (2:13.98) and the 100 breast (1:00.68). Friesen picked up right where she left off during her (first) senior campaign with the Cardinals, qualifying for the NCAA Championships for the fourth-straight year. At the 2021 NCAAs, she finished 27th in the 200 breaststroke (2:09.76) and 34th in the 100 breaststroke (1:00.32). At the ACC Championships, she placed 10th in the 200 breaststroke (2:10.00), 12th in the 100 breaststroke (1:00.76), and 36th in the 200 individual medley (2:02.82).Â

Hay continued to make a big impact for the Cardinals and solidified herself as one of the best IMers in program history. She is a six-time All-American for the Cards. At the 2021 NCAA Championships, she placed ninth in the 200 individual medley (1:56.02), 13th in the 200 butterfly (1:55.19), and 15th in the 400 individual medley (4:08.87). At the ACC Championships, she finished fourth in the 200 butterfly (1:55.67), fifth in the 400 individual medley (4:09.33), and seventh in the 200 individual medley (1:56.68).Â

Kim is entered in the 200 IM (2:00.53), 400 IM (4:13.56), 100 breast (1:01.70), and 200 breast (2:11.21). Herkle represents Germany internationally and most recently earned bronze in the 200m breast at the Euro Meet, where she also finished fifth in the 400m IM. At the German National Championships, she placed third in the 200m breast, fourth in the 100m breast, and sixth in the 50m breaststroke. A member of the German national team, she was the German national champion in the 200 breaststroke, is a national age-group record holder and qualified for the 2021 European Championships.

Paige is entered in the 100 fly (53.14), 100 back (52.88), 200 free (1:45.00) and 200 breast (2:11.21). Hetrick had a breakout year in her debut season as a Cardinal, earning two All-American honors. She qualified individually for the NCAA Championships, placing 21st in the 200 freestyle (1:46.00), 31st in the 200 backstroke (1:55.71), and 52nd in the 100 backstroke (53.94). She also anchored UofL's 400 freestyle relay that finished 10th in 48.53. At the ACC Championships, she finished sixth in the 200 freestyle (1:46.87), 13th in the 200 backstroke (1:56.80), and 20th in the 100 backstroke (54.08). Hetrick also swam on the Cardinals' fourth-place 800 freestyle relay, splitting 1:47.41.Â

Alena is entered in the 50 free (22.94), 100 fly (52.94), 200 free (1:46.21), 200 fly (1:54.95). She has qualified for NCAAs all three years so far and is a four-time All American. She has put up top ten times in the Louisville record book in the 100 butterfly, 200 butterfly, 200 free, 500 free. Â She was a part of the second fastest 800 free relay in school history. She has qualified for ACCs all four years now as well. Â

At the 2021 ACC Championships, she finished 13th in the mile (16:34.54), 19th in the 500 freestyle (4:47.22), and 19th in the 200 freestyle (1:48.01). She qualified for the NCAAs in 2020 before the meet was cancelled.

POLINA NEVMOVENKO | Fr. Â | St. Petersburg, Russia Â
Polina (nev-mo-VEN-ko) is entered in the 500 free (4:47.71), 200 free (1:47.56) and the 100 free (48.53). She swam for the Russian National Team and Coaches Nikita Lugovkin and Elena Karpeeva. In 2017, she won silver at the World Junior Championships in Indianapolis. She won two gold and two silver at the European Junior Championships. She won gold in the Russian Championship and another five gold medals at the European Youth Olympic Festival.Â

She is an eight-time All-American for the Cardinals and an ACC Champion. She was a member of the Russian National team and medalled twice at the European Championships. Â

At the NCAA Championships, Regenauer (REGG-in-hour) finished 29th in the 50 freestyle (22.40), 36th in the 100 freestyle (49.08), and 42nd in the 100 butterfly (53.38). She also anchored UofL's 400 medley relay in 47.93 that finished sixth and split 21.77 on the eighth-place 200 freestyle relay. At the ACC Championships, she sprinted to sixth in the 50 freestyle (22.32), 11th in the 100 freestyle (49.27), and 20th in the 100 butterfly (53.33). She split 23.65 on the butterfly leg on UofL's bronze-medal 200 medley relay and earned another bronze after splitting 22.03 on the 200 freestyle relay. She also anchored the 400 medley relay in 49.11 and split 48.79 on the 400 freestyle relay, both of which also took third. Â Â

Rye is entered in the 500 free (4:51.06), the 400 IM (4:15.70), 200 back (1:53.22), 200 IM (2:00.54) and 100 back (53.09) She joined the team in January and immediately set a school record in the 200 back (1:53.22) against Kentucky. She was an Olympic trials qualifier, 2019 Fina World Junior Championships qualifier, and a member of the 2019-2021 National Junior Team. She is a three-time Scholastic All- American, a Winter Junior National champion, and holds multiple GA and club records for Dynamo Swim Club. She is one of three sibling pairs on the Cardinal roster along with her sister Tristen.

Tristen is entered in the 200 IM (1:58.02), 100 fly (52.07), 200 fly (1:55.87), 100 back (53.28).  At the 2021 NCAA Championships, she finished 22nd in the 100 butterfly (52.30), 23rd in the 200 butterfly (1:56.34), and 37th in the 100 backstroke (53.32). She also led-off UofL's sixth-place 400 medley relay in 52.39, split 22.14 on the eighth-place 200 freestyle relay, and split 48.43 on the 400 freestyle relay that took 10th. Her lead-off split of 52.39 also eclipsed the freshman program record. At the ACC Championships, she earned bronze in the 200 butterfly (1:55.38), finished seventh in the 100 butterfly (52.05), and took 12th in the 200 individual medley (1:58.10). She also collected bronze as part of two UofL relays: she led off in 52.91 on the 400 medley relay and split 49.12 on the 400 freestyle relay. Ulett also split 1:47.37 on the Cardinals' 800 freestyle relay that finished fourth overall at ACCs. She is one of three sibling pairs on the Cardinal roster along with her sister Tristen.

Kaylee has been a stalwart for the Cardinals in the breaststroke where she has top ten times in school history in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke and the 200 and 400 medley relay including the second fastest time ever in the 100 breast. She is a six-time All-American for the Cardinals qualifying every year as well as a four-time ACC qualifier. She is a five-time medallist at ACCs. She is the older sister of Cardinal swimmer Krista Wheeler as the Wheelers are one of three sets of siblings on the Cardinal Roster (Albieros, Uletts and Wheelers).

LIBERTY WILLIAMS | So. | Â Mentone, Calif.
Liberty is entered in the 500 free (4:38.79), 1650 Free (15:53.60) and 200 free (1:49.06). She is ranked No. 2 in the nation in the 1000 and 3rd in the 1650. She had a breakout season during her first year with the Cardinals. At the NCAA Championships, she finished 26th in the mile (16:18.49) and also raced the 500 freestyle (4:40.38). At the ACC Championships, she earned silver in the mile with a time of 16:06.56 and also placed ninth in the 500 freestyle (4:44.05) and 38th in the 200 freestyle (1:51.26). Her mile time at ACCs, which was swum during the early heats, lowered the UofL freshman record. Â

NICK ALBIERO | Gr. | Louisville, Ky. | MBA
 Nick is back to use his COVID year of eligibility. He is a 27-time All-American and an 8-time ACC Champion and the ACC Swimmer of the Year.  Albiero's first senior season was one for the record books. He became just the third Cardinal on the men's team to ever win an NCAA Championship title after earning gold in the 200 butterfly. His time of 1:38.64 lowered his own program UofL record and remains the fifth-fastest performance in all-time history. Albiero also finished second in the 100 butterfly (44.32) and fifth in the 100 backstroke (44.86) at the NCAA Championships. His time of 44.32 in the 100 butterfly broke his own UofL record and tied the ACC mark, all while moving up to the No. 6 time in U.S. history. Albiero was also part of four Cardinal relays at NCAAs, including splitting 20.07 on the butterfly leg of the 200 medley relay that clinched UofL's first-ever NCAA relay title. He led-off the eighth-place 800 freestyle relay in 1:32.31, split 44.09 on the butterfly leg of the fourth-place 400 medley relay, and earned bronze in the 400 freestyle relay with a 42.09 split. Albiero played a crucial role in helping Louisville earn their first-ever ACC title in program history. At the ACC Championships, he won his fourth-straight 200 butterfly title (1:39.08) and collected silver in the 100 butterfly (44.67) and 100 backstroke (44.85). He split 44.81 on the butterfly leg of the gold-medal 400 medley relay, split 19.06 on the winning 200 freestyle relay, split 41.71 on the runner-up 400 freestyle relay, and led-off the third-place 800 freestyle relay in 1:32.31. He is one of three sibling pairs on the Cardinal roster with his sister, Gabi. He is the son of head coach Arthur Albiero. Â

Hayden has been a workhorse in the distance events. He has qualified for the ACC Championships in the distance events, boarding three top eight finishes in the mile and was part of Louisville's first ACC Team Championship. A two-time qualifier for the NCAAs, he swam the mile and the 500. He currently is ranked nationally in the 1000 and the 1650 freestyle. He is the first cousin of Cardinal sprinter Michael Eastman.

Vlad (do-BEAN-in)Â was a member of the Russian National Team. He was a medalist at the 2017 Junior European Champions and competed at the 2019 International University Games participant. He was a finalist at the 2019 Russian Championships with a sixth place finish in the 100 free. In 2020, he was a two-time finalist at the Russian Short Course Championships with a third place finish in the 100 free and a fifth place finish in the 50 free.

Michael is a sprint specialist and an All-American. He qualified for both the NCAAs and the ACC's the past two years and was part of Louisville's first ACC Team Championship. He won ACC gold in the 200 free relay. He has put up top ten times in the 50 free, the 100 free in the Cardinal record books as well as six of the fastest times in the 200, 400 and 800 free relay. Â He is the first cousin of Cardinal distance swimmer Hayden Curley.

Kivanc (key-VAHNCH) came to Louisville with extensive international competition. He competed at the European Championships the European Games and the European Junior Championship where he excelled as a platform diver. He also competed in platform at the FINA Diving Grand Prix. He has qualified for Zones each year and competed in the ACC's all four years with a fourth place finish on platform a year ago and was part of Louisville's first ACC Team Championship. Gur is the first male diver to qualify since 2016 to go to the NCAA Championships

Dalton qualified for the NCAA Championships where he finished 22nd in the 100 butterfly (46.18), 37th in the 50 freestyle (19.76), and 39th in the 100 backstroke (47.62). At the ACC Championships, he placed 12th in the 100 backstroke (47.20), 14th in the 100 butterfly (46.40), and 19th in the 50 freestyle (19.72). He has logged all-time top ten times in the 100, the 200, the 500 as well as the 400 and 800 free relays. Saldo swam for Clube Curitibano for Diego Pena. At the 7th FINA World Junior Championships, he placed 11th in the 200 fly with a near-best of 1:59.49. He also swam on the 4×200 free relay team, splitting a 1:49.69 in the final as Brazil placed fourth, just off the podium. In 2021, he swam in the Brazilian Olympic Trials, where he was 11th in the 200 fly and the 400 freestyle and in the the Top 25 in the 100 fly and the 200 free. He won the 200 fly at the 45th South American Swimming Championships 2021.

 Haridi is a seven-time All-American, a three-time ACC Champion and a member of Louisville's first ever NCAA Relay Championship team. Haridi qualified for the 2021 NCAA Championships where he placed 17th in the 100 freestyle (42.48) and 26th in the 50 freestyle (19.50). He was also part of three Cardinal relays at NCAAs, leading off the bronze-medal 400 freestyle relay in 41.94 and anchoring the fourth-place 400 medley relay in 41.72. Sameh also anchored the 200 freestyle relay in 18.45 en route to giving UofL their first ever relay NCAA title. At the ACC Championships, he earned silver in the 100 freestyle (42.07), bronze in the 50 freestyle (19.15), and placed ninth in the 100 butterfly (45.82). His prelim time of 19.14 in the 50 freestyle set a new UofL program record. He also anchored the winning 200 medley relay in 18.76, led off the gold-medal 200 freestyle relay in 19.15, anchored the victorious 400 medley relay in 42.02, and collected silver as part of the runner-up 400 freestyle relay in 42.03. His complete name is Abdelrahman Sameh Kamel El Araby. Haridi is his nickname.

Sneden also dove to 14th on the platform with a mark of 541.15 at the NCAA Zone C Championships.Â

Evgenii (ev-GAIN-ee so-MAUVE) is a 12 time All-American for the Cardinals. and part of the first ever Men's ACC Championship. Â Most importantly he was a part of Louisville's first NCAA Relay Championship. Â He holds the school record in the 100 and 200 breaststroke, the 200 IM and the 200 and 400 relay. Last year at ACCs, he won his fourth-straight title in the 100 breaststroke enroute to breaking the conference, meet, and school record. He also successfully defended his 200 breaststroke (1:51.26) ACC title which also set a new meet and school record. Â In all, he was a 10-time ACC Champion.

Gabi is entered in the 50 free (22.09), 200 fly (1:55.42), the 100 fly (51.63) and the 100 free (48.14). Psych sheet has her 4th in the 50, 2nd in the 100 fly, and 4th in the 100 free. She is a six time All-American for UofL. Last year, she made waves as a freshman at ACCs. She qualified for the NCAA Championships where she finished 14th in the 50 freestyle (22.27), 15th in the 200 butterfly (1:56.30), and 27th in the 100 butterfly (52.35). She was the lead-off on UofL's eighth-place 200 freestyle relay in 22.13 and the 400 freestyle relay in 48.60 that finished 10th. Albiero also split a 51.44 on the 400 medley relay that finished sixth and anchored the 200 medley relay in 21.68 that took 12th. At the ACC Championships, she earned bronze in the 50 freestyle (22.03), placed fourth in the 100 butterfly (51.59), and finished ninth in the 200 butterfly (1:55.24). Her time of 22.03 in the 50 freestyle broke the UofL program record for freshmen. Albiero was also on four Cardinal relays that earned bronze: 200 medley relay (21.62), 200 freestyle relay (22.13), 400 medley relay (51.26), and 400 freestyle relay (48.68). She is one of three sibling pairs on the Cardinal roster along with her brother, Nick. Daughter of head coach Arthur Albiero.

Diana is entered in the 200 IM (2:01.71), the 200 free (1:46.81, the 100 free (50.74) and 200 breast (2:13.64). Diana has gone to three NCAA Championships as a relay swimmer, qualified for ACCs all four years so far and was a part of one of the top ten fastest relay times in the 800 Free Relay last year at the NCAAs where she won All-American honors.

She is entered in the 200 IM (2:07.32), the 100 breast (1:00.28), the 50 free (24.12) and the 200 breast (2:13.98). Adeline qualified for the 2021 NCAA Championships, finishing 19th in the 100 breaststroke (59.50) and 48th in the 200 breaststroke (2:13.69). At last year's ACC Championships, she placed eighth in the 100 breaststroke (59.73), 11th in the 200 breaststroke (2:11.42), and 29th in the 200 individual medley (2:01.71).Â

Morgan is entered in the 200 IM (2:06.42) , the 200 breast (2:13.98) and the 100 breast (1:00.68). Friesen picked up right where she left off during her (first) senior campaign with the Cardinals, qualifying for the NCAA Championships for the fourth-straight year. At the 2021 NCAAs, she finished 27th in the 200 breaststroke (2:09.76) and 34th in the 100 breaststroke (1:00.32). At the ACC Championships, she placed 10th in the 200 breaststroke (2:10.00), 12th in the 100 breaststroke (1:00.76), and 36th in the 200 individual medley (2:02.82).Â

Hay continued to make a big impact for the Cardinals and solidified herself as one of the best IMers in program history. She is a six-time All-American for the Cards. At the 2021 NCAA Championships, she placed ninth in the 200 individual medley (1:56.02), 13th in the 200 butterfly (1:55.19), and 15th in the 400 individual medley (4:08.87). At the ACC Championships, she finished fourth in the 200 butterfly (1:55.67), fifth in the 400 individual medley (4:09.33), and seventh in the 200 individual medley (1:56.68).Â

Kim is entered in the 200 IM (2:00.53), 400 IM (4:13.56), 100 breast (1:01.70), and 200 breast (2:11.21). Herkle represents Germany internationally and most recently earned bronze in the 200m breast at the Euro Meet, where she also finished fifth in the 400m IM. At the German National Championships, she placed third in the 200m breast, fourth in the 100m breast, and sixth in the 50m breaststroke. A member of the German national team, she was the German national champion in the 200 breaststroke, is a national age-group record holder and qualified for the 2021 European Championships.

Paige is entered in the 100 fly (53.14), 100 back (52.88), 200 free (1:45.00) and 200 breast (2:11.21). Hetrick had a breakout year in her debut season as a Cardinal, earning two All-American honors. She qualified individually for the NCAA Championships, placing 21st in the 200 freestyle (1:46.00), 31st in the 200 backstroke (1:55.71), and 52nd in the 100 backstroke (53.94). She also anchored UofL's 400 freestyle relay that finished 10th in 48.53. At the ACC Championships, she finished sixth in the 200 freestyle (1:46.87), 13th in the 200 backstroke (1:56.80), and 20th in the 100 backstroke (54.08). Hetrick also swam on the Cardinals' fourth-place 800 freestyle relay, splitting 1:47.41.Â

Polina (nev-mo-VEN-ko) is entered in the 500 free (4:47.71), 200 free (1:47.56) and the 100 free (48.53). She swam for the Russian National Team and Coaches Nikita Lugovkin and Elena Karpeeva. In 2017, she won silver at the World Junior Championships in Indianapolis. She won two gold and two silver at the European Junior Championships. She won gold in the Russian Championship and another five gold medals at the European Youth Olympic Festival.Â

At the NCAA Championships, Regenauer (REGG-in-hour) finished 29th in the 50 freestyle (22.40), 36th in the 100 freestyle (49.08), and 42nd in the 100 butterfly (53.38). She also anchored UofL's 400 medley relay in 47.93 that finished sixth and split 21.77 on the eighth-place 200 freestyle relay. At the ACC Championships, she sprinted to sixth in the 50 freestyle (22.32), 11th in the 100 freestyle (49.27), and 20th in the 100 butterfly (53.33). She split 23.65 on the butterfly leg on UofL's bronze-medal 200 medley relay and earned another bronze after splitting 22.03 on the 200 freestyle relay. She was an Olympic trials qualifier, 2019 Fina World Junior Championships qualifier, and a member of the 2019-2021 National Junior Team. She is a three-time Scholastic All- American, a Winter Junior National champion, and holds multiple GA and club records for Dynamo Swim Club. Tristen is entered in the 200 IM (1:58.02), 100 fly (52.07), 200 fly (1:55.87), 100 back (53.28).  At the 2021 NCAA Championships, she finished 22nd in the 100 butterfly (52.30), 23rd in the 200 butterfly (1:56.34), and 37th in the 100 backstroke (53.32). She also led-off UofL's sixth-place 400 medley relay in 52.39, split 22.14 on the eighth-place 200 freestyle relay, and split 48.43 on the 400 freestyle relay that took 10th. Her lead-off split of 52.39 also eclipsed the freshman program record. At the ACC Championships, she earned bronze in the 200 butterfly (1:55.38), finished seventh in the 100 butterfly (52.05), and took 12th in the 200 individual medley (1:58.10). She also collected bronze as part of two UofL relays: she led off in 52.91 on the 400 medley relay and split 49.12 on the 400 freestyle relay. Kaylee has been a stalwart for the Cardinals in the breaststroke where she has top ten times in school history in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke and the 200 and 400 medley relay including the second fastest time ever in the 100 breast. She is a six-time All-American for the Cardinals qualifying every year as well as a four-time ACC qualifier. She is a five-time medallist at ACCs. She is the older sister of Cardinal swimmer Krista Wheeler as the Wheelers are one of three sets of siblings on the Cardinal Roster (Albieros, Uletts and Wheelers).

She had a breakout season during her first year with the Cardinals. At the NCAA Championships, she finished 26th in the mile (16:18.49) and also raced the 500 freestyle (4:40.38). At the ACC Championships, she earned silver in the mile with a time of 16:06.56 and also placed ninth in the 500 freestyle (4:44.05) and 38th in the 200 freestyle (1:51.26).  Nick is back to use his COVID year of eligibility. He is a 27-time All-American and an 8-time ACC Champion and the ACC Swimmer of the Year.  Albiero's first senior season was one for the record books. He became just the third Cardinal on the men's team to ever win an NCAA Championship title after earning gold in the 200 butterfly. His time of 1:38.64 lowered his own program UofL record and remains the fifth-fastest performance in all-time history. Albiero also finished second in the 100 butterfly (44.32) and fifth in the 100 backstroke (44.86) at the NCAA Championships. His time of 44.32 in the 100 butterfly broke his own UofL record and tied the ACC mark, all while moving up to the No. 6 time in U.S. history. Albiero was also part of four Cardinal relays at NCAAs, including splitting 20.07 on the butterfly leg of the 200 medley relay that clinched UofL's first-ever NCAA relay title. He led-off the eighth-place 800 freestyle relay in 1:32.31, split 44.09 on the butterfly leg of the fourth-place 400 medley relay, and earned bronze in the 400 freestyle relay with a 42.09 split. Albiero played a crucial role in helping Louisville earn their first-ever ACC title in program history. At the ACC Championships, he won his fourth-straight 200 butterfly title (1:39.08) and collected silver in the 100 butterfly (44.67) and 100 backstroke (44.85). He split 44.81 on the butterfly leg of the gold-medal 400 medley relay, split 19.06 on the winning 200 freestyle relay, split 41.71 on the runner-up 400 freestyle relay, and led-off the third-place 800 freestyle relay in 1:32.31. Hayden has been a workhorse in the distance events. He has qualified for the ACC Championships in the distance events, boarding three top eight finishes in the mile and was part of Louisville's first ACC Team Championship. A two-time qualifier for the NCAAs, he swam the mile and the 500. He currently is ranked nationally in the 1000 and the 1650 freestyle. He is the first cousin of Cardinal sprinter Michael Eastman.

Vlad (do-BEAN-in)Â was a member of the Russian National Team. He was a medalist at the 2017 Junior European Champions and competed at the 2019 International University Games participant. He was a finalist at the 2019 Russian Championships with a sixth place finish in the 100 free. In 2020, he was a two-time finalist at the Russian Short Course Championships with a third place finish in the 100 free and a fifth place finish in the 50 free.

Michael is a sprint specialist and an All-American. He qualified for both the NCAAs and the ACC's the past two years and was part of Louisville's first ACC Team Championship. He won ACC gold in the 200 free relay. He has put up top ten times in the 50 free, the 100 free in the Cardinal record books as well as six of the fastest times in the 200, 400 and 800 free relay. Kivanc (key-VAHNCH) came to Louisville with extensive international competition. He competed at the European Championships the European Games and the European Junior Championship where he excelled as a platform diver. He also competed in platform at the FINA Diving Grand Prix. He has qualified for Zones each year and competed in the ACC's all four years with a fourth place finish on platform a year ago and was part of Louisville's first ACC Team Championship. Gur is the first male diver to qualify since 2016 to go to the NCAA Championships

Saldo swam for Clube Curitibano for Diego Pena. At the 7th FINA World Junior Championships, he placed 11th in the 200 fly with a near-best of 1:59.49. He also swam on the 4×200 free relay team, splitting a 1:49.69 in the final as Brazil placed fourth, just off the podium. In 2021, he swam in the Brazilian Olympic Trials, where he was 11th in the 200 fly and the 400 freestyle and in the the Top 25 in the 100 fly and the 200 free. He won the 200 fly at the 45th South American Swimming Championships 2021.

 Haridi is a seven-time All-American, a three-time ACC Champion and a member of Louisville's first ever NCAA Relay Championship team. Haridi qualified for the 2021 NCAA Championships where he placed 17th in the 100 freestyle (42.48) and 26th in the 50 freestyle (19.50). He was also part of three Cardinal relays at NCAAs, leading off the bronze-medal 400 freestyle relay in 41.94 and anchoring the fourth-place 400 medley relay in 41.72. Sameh also anchored the 200 freestyle relay in 18.45 en route to giving UofL their first ever relay NCAA title. At the ACC Championships, he earned silver in the 100 freestyle (42.07), bronze in the 50 freestyle (19.15), and placed ninth in the 100 butterfly (45.82). His prelim time of 19.14 in the 50 freestyle set a new UofL program record. He also anchored the winning 200 medley relay in 18.76, led off the gold-medal 200 freestyle relay in 19.15, anchored the victorious 400 medley relay in 42.02, and collected silver as part of the runner-up 400 freestyle relay in 42.03. His complete name is Abdelrahman Sameh Kamel El Araby. Haridi is his nickname.

Evgenii (ev-GAIN-ee so-MAUVE) is a 12 time All-American for the Cardinals. and part of the first ever Men's ACC Championship. Â Most importantly he was a part of Louisville's first NCAA Relay Championship. Â He holds the school record in the 100 and 200 breaststroke, the 200 IM and the 200 and 400 relay. Last year at ACCs, he won his fourth-straight title in the 100 breaststroke enroute to breaking the conference, meet, and school record. He also successfully defended his 200 breaststroke (1:51.26) ACC title which also set a new meet and school record. Â In all, he was a 10-time ACC Champion.
