Last season, the Cardinals topped #12/9 Michigan, 70-48, on Dec. 2.
This will just be the second ranked opponent the Cardinals face in the young season. ABOUT THE BUCKEYES
Ohio State is the sixth different NCAA Tournament team from last season the Cardinals will face during their non-conference portion of their schedule when the two teams square off on Wednesday. Ohio State reached the Sweet 16 last season after knocking off No. 3 seed LSU in Baton Rouge in the second round of the tournament. So far, the Buckeyes are 6-0 this season and are ranked #4 in the most recent AP poll. This will be the second Top-5 opponent the Cardinals will face this season after knocking off #3/5 Texas in the Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament. The Buckeyes are led by forward Rebeka Mikulášiková who leads the team with 17.7 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. Madison Greene is averaging 6.0 assists per game and Jacy Sheldon is averaging 6.8 steals per game. Sheldon's 27 steals ranks second in the NCAA.
Series History - Louisville and Ohio State will meet for the fourth time in program history on Wednesday with Louisville holding a 2-1 all-time series advantage. This will be the first matchup held in Louisville as the previous three meetings have occurred in Columbus. This will also be the second time the two teams meet as a part of the ACC/B1G Challenge.
Last Meeting (Dec. 5, 2019) - Dana Evans led the way with 18 points, but No. 2 Louisville lost at Ohio State 67-60 in a Big Ten/ACC Challenge game on Thursday night. Ohio State took a 60-53 lead with 5 minutes left after Kierstan Bell turned a steal into a layup and Dorka Juhasz scored from underneath. The Cardinals closed to within 62-57 at the 3-minute mark and were within five points with 17 seconds left, but couldn't score. A pair of foul shots by Madison Greene sealed it late for the Buckeyes. Evans had 18 points on 6-18 shooting, as the Cardinals were plagued by poor shooting, especially down the stretch when they had to chase the Buckeyes.
