Jones Named ACC Defensive Player of the Week

The sophomore scored the game-winning goal in the win over Clemson.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville sophomore defender Josh Jones was named the Atlantic Coast Conference co-Defensive Player of the Week, announced by the league on Tuesday.
Jones is the second Louisville student-athlete to earn a weekly award this season, joining Aboubacar Camara who was named the Offensive Player of the Week in September.
The Hatfield, Pa., native helped the Cardinals to a 1-0-1 week, allowing just one goal in 180 minutes on the pitch.
Jones played a critical role in Friday's 1-0 victory over Clemson, helping the Cardinals to their sixth shutout of the season while also scoring the lone goal of the match.
Jones now has three goals on the season and is one of three Cardinals to start all 15 matches. The center back currently leads Louisville with 1,337 minutes played.
Louisville wraps up the regular season on Friday night at Wake Forest. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET and the match will be televised on the ACC Network.
