Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The 11th-ranked University of Louisville men's soccer team finishes off the home portion of its regular season schedule against Clemson on Friday night at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET and will be televised on ACC Network Extra.
ABOUT THE CARDINALS
The Cardinals finished with a 1-1 draw against East Tennessee State on Tuesday evening in their most recent match. Aboubacar Camara tied the match with a penalty kick in the second half for his team-leading fifth goal of the season.
Camara's goal on Tuesday was the 24th of his career, moving him within two of sixth place on Louisville's all-time scoring list. The junior has a chance to beome the first player to lead the Cardinals in goals in three consecutive seasons since Colin Rolfe did it from 2009-11.
SERIES HISTORY
Louisville and Clemson will meet for the 10th time on Friday night with the Tigers holding a 5-3-1 edge in the all-time series. The Cardinals have won two straight over Clemson in Louisville, including a 2-1 victory over then-No. 1 Clemson in April of 2021. Macoumba Ba and Aboubacar Camara each have a goal against Clemson in their career.
TROUTMAN STANDING TALL IN GOAL
Ryan Troutman transferred to Louisville for the 2022 season and was in a battle for the starting goalkeeper spot during the preseason. However, Gavin Krenecki started and played every minute of the first six matches.
Troutman got his first opportunity on the road at Florida Gulf Coast and made the most of the chance, shutting out FGCU. The redshirt-senior has followed it up with seven more starts, including consecutive shutouts at NC State, at Notre Dame and against Evansville.
Troutman has allowed just five goals in eight matches and is the first Louisville keeper with consecutive shutouts against ACC opponents since Jake Gelnovatch had three straight against Duke, Boston College and Pitt in September of 2018.
CAMARA CLIMBING THE ALL-TIME GOALS CHART
Junior forward Aboubacar Camara has been one of the country's best goal scorers throughout his collegiate career.
Camara entered the 2022 campaign as the top returning goal scorer from last season among Power Five schools and his 66th minute strike in the season opener against Saint Louis moved him into a tie for 10th all-time in goals at Louisville.
The junior forward struck again in matches against Florida Gulf Coast, Pitt, Evansville and ETSU and is now eighth all-time with 24 tallies. Next up on the career scoring chart are Tate Schmitt (2015-18) and Ali Elwakhi (1980-83), who are tied for sixth with 26.
