Louisville All-American to play overseas
University of Louisville First Team All-American Anna Stevenson has signed a professional contract and will play overseas in Turkey for Aydin Büyüksehir Belediyespor. She will join the team immediately as they begin the second half of their season.Â
"I am so excited to have the opportunity to start my pro career in Turkey, one of the best leagues for volleyball. There are players on the team with national team experience and they have all been so welcoming to me. I know I have a lot to learn, but the girls have been so kind to me already. I am excited to start this journey," said Stevenson.Â
In addition to her All-America honors, Stevenson was named to the All-Louisville Regional team, the AVCA All-East Region Team and the All-ACC First Team. She was a member of the US Collegiate National Team. Among NCAA Division I Active Career leaders, she is ranked No. 13 in total blocks with 511, No. 123 in blocks/set. In this season, she is ranked nationally in NCAA Division I in No. 13 in Blocks/set (1.34), No. 7 in hitting percentage (.430), No. 19 in total blocks (142). She is a three-time ACC Player of the Week and an All-Cardinal Invitational and All-Sun Devil Tournament selection.
