
No. 9/11 Cardinals Set to Host Cincinnati

UofL will honor seniors in pre-meet ceremony at 11:30 a.m.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The No. 9/11 University of Louisville swimming and diving team will face longtime rival Cincinnati on Saturday, Jan. 29 at noon in the Ralph Wright Natatorium. UofL will honor its seniors at 11:30 during a pre-meet ceremony.Â

The Cardinals are coming off a strong showing against interstate rival Kentucky last weekend with the men winning 208.5-88.5 and the women winning 174-126. The women were led by Gabi Albiero (200 Medley Relay, 50 free, 100 free, 100 fly) and Liberty Williams (1600 free, 500 free), who reset her own school record in the 1600 with a time of 15:53.60.

The men were led by Nick Albiero (200 Medley Relay, 200 fly, 100 fly, 400 Free Relay) and Haridi Sameh (200 Medley Relay, 50 free, 400 Free Relay). Â

Cincinnati is coming off a dominant performance of its own, as the men defeated Xavier 211-83 and the women pulled out a 191-100 victory. The team recorded three top four sweeps in the 200 free, 500 free and the 200 breaststroke. The Bearcats will stop in Lexington to face off against Kentucky on Jan. 28 at 4 p.m before taking on the Cardinals.
