Louisville Heads to Orlando for ITA Kickoff Weekend

LOUISVILLE, Ky.— The University of Louisville men's tennis team will stay on the road this week as they travel to Orlando, Fla. to participate in the ITA Kickoff Weekend.
Louisville will take on No. 20 Central Florida in the first round on Jan. 30 at 10 a.m. Tulane and No. 14 Stanford will play in the other first round match. The winners of both first-round matches will face each other in the championship match at 1 p.m. on Jan. 31 with the winner advancing to ITA National Indoors. The other two teams will play a consolation match on Jan. 31 at 10 a.m.
In the past, the ITA Kickoff weekend has been a great indicator for teams looking to have postseason success. Five of the eight teams that advanced past the ITA Kickoff Weekend won their conference tournaments and all eight teams advanced to at least the Round of 16 in the NCAA tournament.

Last Meeting: Tulane defeated Louisville 4-1 in the Conference USA Men's Tennis Championship at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
Scouting the Green Wave: Tulane (2-0) is coming off 4-3 and 7-0 wins against California and Alcorn State at home. The team returns five letterwinners from last year's roster that ranked No. 23 nationally and posted a 15-8 record including seven wins at home. Head coach Mark Booras is in his 13th season as head coach of the Green Wave.
