Cardinals Host Dayton, Bellarmine Tuesday

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's tennis team will open its 2022 season by hosting Dayton and Bellarmine at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center on Tuesday. The Cardinals kick off the doubleheader against Dayton at 12 p.m. and face off against Bellarmine at 5 p.m. Admission is free. In accordance with university policy, fans in attendance must wear a mask.

"We are excited to get this season started at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center on Tuesday," said UofL head coach Rodrigo da Silva. "All of our guys are back on campus and have been training hard and we are ready to compete this week."

Scouting the Flyers: Dayton opens its season with a doubleheader against No. 12 Kentucky on Jan. 15. The Flyers are coming off a 13-6 record in 2021 and return 10 players from last year's team. Head coach Ryan Meyer is in his tenth season at the helm.

- Louisville posted a 9-12 (3-8 ACC) overall record in 2021.
- The Cardinals return eight players from last season while welcoming freshman Natan Rodrigues and junior Etienne Donnet, a transfer from Oklahoma State.
- Sergio Hernandez leads the charge in wins among returners with 12 while Matthew Fung added seven wins.
- The leading doubles duo of Hernandez and Tin Chen returns this season, after posting an 8-5 record in 2021.
