Clemson, S.C. -- The University of Louisville men's tennis team defeated Clemson 4-2 Friday night to improve to 9-8 (3-5, ACC) on the season. The Tigers with the loss fall to 7-12 (1-9, ACC).

In doubles, the Cardinals split courts one and three with Fabien Salle and Matthew Fung flying to a victory at the one spot 6-3. Kyle Tang and Alex Wesbrooks dropped a close match at the three-spot, 6-4.

Doubles came down to court two where Tin Chen and Sergio Hernandez took the Tigers to a decisive seven-point tiebreaker. The duo clinched the point for the Cardinals with a 7-4 win.

In singles, Salle added to Louisville's lead with a 6-3, 6-4 win on court two over Carlos Kelaidis. Clemson responded with a 7-5, 6-1 victory on court four with Teodor Giusca taking down Josh Howard-Tripp. Shortly after, Ryuhei Azuma defeated the Cardinal's Hernandez 6-1, 6-2, 6-3, tying the match at 2-2.

Louisville scored two straight points to win the match on courts five and six. David Mizrahi bounced back to defeat Jorge Plans Gonzales 6-3, 7-6, 6-4 on court six. Fung downed Spencer Whitaker 6-2, 7-5, 6-4 on court five to clinch the match for the Cards.

Up Next: The Cardinals will stay on the road and travel to Georgia Tech to play the Yellow Jackets Sunday at 12 p.m.
