Cardinals Play Host to No. 1 North Carolina, Duke This Weekend

UofL's outdoor tennnis attendance policy announced
Louisville, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's tennis team will have a busy weekend as they face two ACC Conference opponents at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center. On Friday the Cardinals will welcome the nation's No. 1 team North Carolina at 2 p.m. and Duke on Sunday at noon.
With Sunday's match likely to take place outside, the UofL Athletic Department has released its attendance policy for outdoor matches.
BASS-RUDD TENNIS CENTER OUTDOOR ATTENDANCE POLICY: Attendance for outdoor matches at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center is restricted to mainly player and staff pass list. However, a very limited number of seats will be available to the general public on a first-come, first-served basis. All fans are required to have their temperatures taken at the entrance, wear masks and practice social distancing. Safe seating areas in the bleachers will be clearly marked. Admittance to the indoor facility is not permitted. Â If the match is moved to the indoor facility, the attendance policy will revert to the previous guidelines for indoor matches that prohibit any outside spectators. Â

Duke has two ranked doubles duos with No. 46 Luca Keist and Michael Heller and No. 55 Sean Sculley and Garrett Johns. - The Cardinals (5-4, 1-3, ACC) are looking to continue its momentum with wins this weekend after soaring past the Boston College Eagles 6-1 last Friday.
- In singles action, junior Sergio Hernandez leads the team with a 6-2 overall dual match record. Last week against the Eagles, he defeated Max Montlagh 6-3, 6-0, giving the Cardinals the edge in the match.
- Fabien Salle was named ACC Men's player of the week. The junior is coming off an impressive weekend, defeating the No. 6 player in the country Richard Ciamarra with Notre Dame 6-3, 6-2 and Max Mendelsohn with Boston College 6-4, 6-2. Salle currently sits with a 5-1 singles record at the two-spot.
- The junior duo of Alex Wesbrooks and Josh Howard-Tripp lead the team in doubles with a 4-2 overall record. They are currently on a two-match winning streak, defeating No. 13 Wake Forest and Boston College, helping Louisville clinch the doubles point in each of those matches.
- Louisville enters the ITA top 50 rankings for the first time this season, ranked No. 49 in the country.
- Tin Chen stands at the No. 71 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) singles rankings and carries a 4-4 overall record as the Cardinals' No. 1 player.
