
Oberhausen Earns Silver in Heptathlon; Sanga Takes Bronze in 5000m on Day Two of ACC Indoor Championships

The Louisville women stand in second place, while the men are in third after Friday's events
Purity Sanga earned the bronze medal in the 5000 mile run Louisville women's track and field team stands second and Micah Oberhausen took the silver medal in the heptathlon to help the men move into third place after day two of the 2021 ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Clemson Indoor Track Center.
The meet will conclude on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. starting with the men's triple jump. Live results can be viewed here and tomorrow's start list can be accessed here.
ACC Network Extra will return to provide coverage at the Friday and Saturday sessions. Play-by-play announcer Shawn Kenney will be joined by veteran analyst Larry Rawson from noon until the meet's conclusion (approximately 4:30 p.m.) on Saturday. For the women, the UofL currently sits in second place with 39 points behind Duke (42 points). Virginia stands third with 31.5 points.
Sanga captured the bronze medal in the 5000m run, clocking in at 16:17.90 to earn first team All-ACC honors. Senior Bailey Bailey posted her season-best time of 16:52.14 to finish 15th.
Junior Emma Bryant qualified for the mile final after finishing sixth in the prelims with a career-best time of 4:47.38.
Addie Wanner finished ninth in the pentathlon, tallying 3640 points for a career-best showing. Wanner established a personal best mark of 1.73m (5-8) to finish second in the pentathlon high jump and a career-best mark of 5.34m (17-6.25) in the long jump.
On the men's side, Louisville stands third with 30.5 points behind Virginia Tech (8) and Pittsburgh (32).
The Cardinals earned a pair of All-ACC honors in the heptathlon with junior Micah Oberhausen finishing with a personal-best score of 5360, good for a silver medal and All-ACC first team honors. Freshman Justin Lehmkuhler earned All-ACC second team accolades, tallying a career-best 4961 points.
Junior Sterling-Warner Savage qualified for Saturday's 60m final after finishing third in the 60m prelims with a time of 6.67.
