Cards Fly Past Boston College 6-1

Louisville, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's tennis team flew past the Boston College Eagles 6-1 on Friday evening at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center to earn their first conference victory. With the win, Louisville snaps a four-match losing streak and improves to 5-4 (1-3, ACC) while the Eagles drop to 0-3 on the season.
"The guys have been playing well, but we haven't seen the results to show for it," said head coach Rodrigo Da Silva. "After losing four matches in a row, it felt good to come out
today and get a big conference win. Our focus is on having a good week of practice and preparing for No. 1 UNC and Duke next weekend."
The Cardinals claimed the early lead by taking the doubles point. Court three finished first with Josh Howard-Tripp and Alex Wesbrooks flying past Santiago Montufar and Max Mendelsohn 6-3. Matthew Fung and Fabien Salle clinched the doubles point for Louisville taking court one 6-2 over Max Montlagh and Sean Mullins.
In singles, David Mizrahi kept the momentum going for the Cardinals by winning on court six 6-1, 6-0 over Santiago Montufar. Sergio Hernandez secured another point by
defeating Max Montlagh 6-3, 6-0 on court three.Â
Fabien Salle clinched the win for Louisville, taking down Max Mendelsohn in straight sets 6-3, 6-2. Shortly after, court five finished with Matthew Fung beating Mason Fung from
the Eagles to give the Cardinals a 5-0 lead.
The final two courts went into third sets, playing tie breakers. No. 71 Tin Chen defeated Sean Mullins 6-4, 6-2, 1-0 (10-5) to give Louisville it's final point in the match. The Eagles got on the scoreboard at No. 4 where Shreekar Eedara toped Howard-Tripp 6-1, 6-2, 1-0 (13-11).
Up Next: The Cardinals will host No. 1 North Carolina on Friday, March 5 at 2 p.m. followed by Duke Sunday, March 7 at 12 p.m.
