- Louisville fell to 7-16 in its series against North Carolina, with the Tar Heels holding a 7-4 edge since UofL joined the ACC.
- Louisville played its first game in 19 days and its first road game in 24 days. Louisville had expected to play its first game since Feb. 1 against Syracuse on Wednesday, but another positive test postponed the game less than five hours before tipoff.
- North Carolina's 99 points are the most by a Louisville opponent in regulation since Cincinnati beat the Cards 101-80 at Shoemaker Center on Feb. 22, 2003.
- The Cardinals shot 32.8 percent from the floor, the second lowest this season since a 31.6 performance in a loss at Clemson on Jan. 27, 2021.
- The Cardinals made a season low 6.3 percent from behind the arc, connecting on just 1-of-16 attempts on their 3-point attempts.
- UofL was outrebounded 45-34 by North Carolina in Saturday's loss. It marked only the sixth time all season that the Cardinals were outrebounded by the opposition. Louisville is 2-4 this year when being outrebounded by an opponent.
- The Cardinals were held to 54 points or fewer for the third time this season, two times coming off long layoffs. The Cardinals scored 48 points at Wisconsin after an 18-day layoff on Dec. 19, 2020.
- UofL has an 87-66 record over the last 15 years on its opponent's home court (.569). Louisville has posted a 31-30 conference road record in its seventh year in the ACC (4-3 this year, 6-4 last year).
- UNC shot 60.9 percent from the floor becoming the first opponent to shoot better than 60.0 from the field since Charlotte connected 61.4 percent of their attempts on Feb. 11, 2001.
- Malik Williams made his season debut versus North Carolina, scoring four points and grabbing three rebounds in 17 minutes of action. Williams missed the first 15 games due to an injury. The senior connected on 2-of-6 field goal attempts and was 0-of-2 from 3-point range.
- Samuell Williamson recorded a team-high 10 rebounds, the sixth time he reached double-digits this season and also the third consecutive contest of 10 or more boards. He's averaging 12.7 rebounds over the last three contests.
- Carlik Jones tallied a team-high 13 points, the 15th-consecutive game in double figures this season. The senior has scored 10 or more points in every game he has appeared in during his UofL career.
- Jae'Lyn Withers recorded eight rebounds in the loss to the Tar Heels, the eight game this year with eight or more rebounds in a game.
- He continues to lead the squad in rebounds at 7.6 per game and is averaging 9.0 rebounds over his last six contests.
