Dilfer and Stevenson Named First Team AVCA All-Americans; DeBeer is Third Team

Dilfer and Stevenson are the first-ever First Teamers in school history
LEXINGTON, Ky. (December 15, 2021) –
LEXINGTON, Ky. (December 15, 2021) – The American Volleyball Coaches Association is proud to announce its NCAA Division I All-America Teams for women's volleyball. Each of the three AVCA All-America Teams includes 14 student-athletes. A group of honorable mention selections were made, which includes a combination of players named Conference Player of the Year and 30 additional players identified by the All-America Committee. The Division I AVCA National Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year will be announced on Friday, Dec. 17.
No. 1-ranked University of Louisville's setter Tori Dilfer and middle blocker Anna Stevenson were named to the first team as the first Cardinals to be so named. Sophomore outside hitter Anna DeBeer was voted to the third team.
Stevenson was named to the All-Louisville Regional team, the AVCA All-East Region Team and the All-ACC First Team. She was a member of the US Collegiate National Team. Among NCAA Division I Active Career leaders, she is ranked No. 13 in total blocks with 511, No. 123 in blocks/set. In this season, she is ranked nationally in NCAA Division I in No. 13 in Blocks/set (1.34), No. 7 in hitting percentage (.430), No. 19 in total blocks (142). She is a three-time ACC Player of the Week and an All-Cardinal Invitational and All-Sun Devil Tournament selection.
Tori Dilfer was named MVP of the All-Louisville Regional team, to the AVCA First Team All-East Region. She was named the East Region Player of the Year and ACC Setter of the Year and to the All-ACC First Team. She led every match against top 25 opponents in assists. She was a US Collegiate National Team Member in 2021. Ranked No. 24 in Asst/set (10.79); No. 76 total assists (1,165). Louisville's No. 4 ranked hitting percentage (.300) can be credited to her savvy setting. She had 14 matches where she had serving runs of more than 5 points including a season-high 9 straight against Clemson. She had 23 aces including 7 matches with 2 or more. Had two double/doubles with 34A & 12 D vs. Purdue and 13 D & 34 A vs. Georgia Tech. Named to All-Cardinal Invitational. Her setting percentage is .440 and she recorded at least 1 block in all but 5 matches with season high 4 vs. Pitt, UIC, Florida, Georgia Tech. She is one of Louisville's three team captains.Â
Anna DeBeer was named to the All-Louisville Regional team as well as to the First Team AVCA All-East Region and All-ACC First Team, she leads teams in kills (323), attacks (787) and double-doubles with 7. Her hitting percentage against Top 50 (.258) is better than versus all opponents. She had 19 matches in double digit kills. Named MVP of Sun Devil Invitational, she had season-high 18 kills vs. Arizona State, career high aces (5) vs. Boston College and career high 21 digs versus Georgia Tech beating her previous high of 14 digs vs Duke and Notre Dame this year.  Nationally ranked in Kills/set (3.23) she also had four serving runs of five or more led by two 6-point runs against Boston College in the same match. Had season-high five blocks vs. Georgia Tech and at Notre Dame. Preseason All ACC this year.
