CALI, Columbia – University of Louisville track and field athlete Jorge Contreras will represent Puerto Rico in the inaugural 2021 Junior Pan American Games in Cali, Colombia.

"Jorge has a history of representing Puerto Rico at the highest international level and our program knows that he ready for big throws in Columbia this week," said head coach Dale Cowper. "His motivation, commitment, and passion will continue to create high level results and the residents of Caguas should be extremely proud of him."
Â
In his first collegiate season, Contreras earned three top-five shot put finishes and qualified for the NCAA Outdoor East Preliminary Round in the discus throw after a mark of 53.05m (174-0) at the 2021 ACC Outdoor Championships.
