
Track and Field Announces 2021-22 Schedule

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville track and field head coach Dale Cowper has announced the 2021-22 schedule.
Louisville kicks off the indoor season on Dec. 11 as hosts of the Cardinal Classic at the Norton Healthcare Sport and Learning Center. This marks the first time in program history that the Cardinals will open their season at home.
"It is exciting to be able to open the season at home for the first time in our program's history on December 11th, "said Cowper. "The Cardinal Classic will offer us a great capstone to our fall training phase. We have a well-balanced schedule lined up after our return to campus in January that will challenge our entire squad throughout the spring and into championship events later in the season."
The Cardinals return to action at the Blazer Invite on Jan.14 in Birmingham, Ala. The following weekend, Louisville travels to Blacksburg, Va., for the Hokie Invitational from Jan. 21-22 before closing out the month back home with the Lenny Lyles Invitational on Jan. 29.
Louisville hits the road to South Bend, Ind. for the Meyo Invitational on Feb. 4-5 before sending two teams to the Tiger Paw Invitational in Clemson, S.C. and Husky Classic in Seattle, Wash. on Feb. 11-12.
Postseason competition marks the return to two regular season sites as Louisville will be back in Blacksburg, Va. on Feb. 24-26 for ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships with the opportunity to send qualifiers back to Birmingham, Ala. for the NCAA Indoor Championships on March 11-12.
The outdoor season opens with Auburn's Tiger Classic on March 18-19. The team splits for the Texas Relays in Austin, Texas and the Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, NC over the weekend of March. 24-26 before wrapping up the four-meet road trip in Knoxville, Tenn. with the Tennessee Relays on April 7-9. The Cardinals will host two of their final three meets at Louisville's Owsley B. Frazier Cardinal Park, starting with the Louisville Invitational on April 15-16.
After a visit to Baton Rouge, La. for the LSU Alumni Gold on April 29-30, the Cardinals return home to honor their seniors at the Clark Wood Invitational on April 29-30.
The ACC Outdoor Championships will kick off the outdoor postseason as the conference field heads to Durham, NC on May 13-15. Louisville closes out its season at the NCAA Outdoor Preliminaries on May 26-28 in Fayetteville, Ark., with qualifying individuals advancing to the NCAA Outdoor Championships on June 8-11 in Eugene, Oregon.
