Sos and Openysheva Named ACC Swimmers of the Week

The pair had outstanding meet at SMU Classic
| GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Louisville's Arina Openysheva has been named the ACC Women's Swimmer of the Week, while on the men's side, the Cardinals' Daniel Sos has been named ACC Men's Swimmer of the Week. Openysheva and the Cardinals swam in the SMU Classic, finishing second to Michigan but ahead of Arizona, Miami, Missouri and SMU. The graduate student from Zelenogorsk, Russia, swam in the 100, 200 and 500 free and was part of the 200 and 800 free relays. Openysheva won the 200 and 500 free races and was part of the first-place 800 free relay team. The Cardinal swimmer recorded NCAA provisional times in the 100, 200 and 500 free events.  A graduate student from Budapest, Hungary, Sos helped Louisville to a second-place finish at the SMU Classic. The Cardinals outswam Arizona, Missouri, SMU and Texas A&M, but finished behind Michigan. Sos swam four events, winning the 200 and 400 IM as well as the 200 breast and posting NCAA provisional times in all three.  |
